Someone called Anisa Abdi, said she worked for FCA Claims Management, told me I could get £4400 compensation, but not for PPI, it was for some 'hidden charges'. She never asked for my bank or personal info but somehow had my address. She said a County Court solicitor would visit me with a cheque and a letter I had to sign. Later it turned out to be about some tax payment thing, not declared on my tax return, involving “Google Play Tax cards” that I was supposed to put in my bank along with the cheque.

Some bloke called himself Kevin or Kelvin from the FCA, said I owed £3000 in bank charges. Asked for my DOB to check who I was, so I gave a made-up one. Then he asked if I wanted the money sent by bank transfer. I said I'd prefer a cheque. Then he asked if I’d be around for their solicitor to call. I asked why a solicitor was needed. He said it was to deliver the cheque. I told him with Covid and all, better if they just posted it. He said he’d check with the solicitor and call back. Then he hung up. Bit amateurish, but wasn’t rude or pushy at all.

I told him to just post a cheque instead, but he kept wanting to speak directly to my wife. I said she was out with friends until the weekend. Curious if he’ll try ringing again. By the way, my wife’s never been charged any bank fees at all.

After trying to get a clear word from her three times, she claimed that my bank had accidentally credited me with £3000.00. I hung up straight away. I phoned the police on 101 to report it, but they put me through to 'Action Fraud'. Unfortunately, 'Action Fraud' couldn’t help much, saying they were short-staffed because of the Coronavirus situation or something like that.

Then they asked how I wanted the money sent, I said to a charity. When they asked which one, I asked for a receipt first. Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent, said his name was Adrian. I didn’t catch the firm he was from as it was all jumbled. He claimed I owed £4999.00 in PPI repayments. Called me Mr., even though my first name suits any gender! Then he asked me to spell it out. I told him I’d already received all my PPI payouts, that he was a con artist, and to do one. I reckon she had her headset on because I shouted at her down the phone to find a real job, she’s clearly just a scammer. She hung up on me straight away, how cheeky! Had two calls this morning from this number claiming to be from the F.C.A., saying I was due £3,500 for a bank overcharge. I got all confused and they hung up, but then they called again with the same story, saying a solicitor would be contacting me with a cheque and a PaySafe voucher (no idea what that is!) plus a reference number. They already had my name and address, and I never gave them any info! I told them I was too mixed up to continue and ended the call. We'll see if anyone actually gets in touch. It’s proper scary when they already know your personal details like that!

Got a call from an Asian man claiming to be from HMRC in London. He said I was owed around £3000 from a bank or building society for wrongly charging me PPA fees. He asked if I wanted the money by cheque or bank transfer. When I started asking more about who he really was and why he was calling, he got really rude and insisted I answer his simple question. I kept explaining why I didn’t trust him and then he just hung up. Definite proof there that it was a con.

I spoke to an elderly vulnerable person who gets these annoying calls all the time - I picked up while on a care visit at 11:33am on 12/10/20. Even tho I’m a woman, the caller asked if I was Mr - so and so. I told them no, then they just said sorry, wrong number and hung up. I promised my client I’d check into reporting this if it seemed dodgy. Consider this your warning.

I haven't picked up, just let it go to voicemail, but no one says anything when it picks up. I’m usually right by the phone when it buzzes but if it’s this number, I just leave it. They ring me loads of times every day, like constantly, but luckily my phone blocks them so it never actually rings. I just see a bunch of missed calls, got about five today already. They really don’t stop at all.

I actually enjoy getting these calls since I mess around with whoever’s on the other end. Most of the time it’s some call centre and you can hear loads of others trying to trick people too. They have my number, but the name and address they got are totally made up by me. I just feed them rubbish info every time. Don’t get frustrated, just turn it around on them. It’s annoying, yeah, but better to have a bit of fun with it and get the last giggle.

Cheerful bloke (don’t know him) checking up on my wellbeing - usually means trouble! Then he started asking if I was still with x energy company. Told him it’s none of his concern and ended the call. I get tons of these calls. Such nuisances.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Global Services about my gas and electric. This was the second time they called me in less than 12 hours. They told me I was stuck in a contract, then just ended the call abruptly.

This number has been bothering me quite a bit. I got loads of calls from it between 8 and 9 today, and it was the same thing yesterday as well. Answered a couple, but all I heard was “the caller has ended the call.” Really annoying!

They didn’t say where they were calling from but got the first name wrong, even though the last name was right. Then they started swearing at me, called me an idiot, asked what I had in my trousers and even threatened to kill me.

This bloke said he was calling from the Citizen Advice Bureau and claimed I was due a mortgage refund. He got really rude when I asked him a few questions. Not a great experience at all.

Got a call from a bloke with a thick accent saying he was from HMRC. When I said my name was Mickey Mouse, he shot back with some rude remark about me sucking ‘chickens’ or something like that. Then he just went quiet and hung up. Total scam!

I got a call from a bloke with a thick Indian accent claiming he was James from HM Revenue and Customs or something similar. I couldn't help but burst out laughing, and then he just ended the call. Seems like my gut feeling was right on the money.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent, calling himself James or sumthin like that. He asked if I’d received a letter from HM Tax saying I hadn’t replied. I told him no, and then he went on a mad rant about a warrant for my arrest. I didn’t hang about, told him he was a dodgy scammer who should be behind bars for breaking the law, and that his story was pure nonsense. Hung up straight away and blocked the number. I’m nearly 68 and luckily still sharp as a tack. Poor sod whoever actually falls for this rubbish.

This morning my mum got a call on our landline from a guy who sounded like he had an Indian accent or something similar. He told her she’d won some kind of payout on her mortgage and said he was phoning from the Citizens Advice Bureau. When she didn’t really buy it and sounded doubtful, he just started calling her a “stupid woman” and said, “I’ll be talking to your husband about this.” Then he abruptly hung up.

Got a call from someone claiming to be David James at HMRC, he rattled off some ID and badge number like he was legit. Total scam if you ask me. Pretty sure his actual name was something like East of Delhi or something along those lines.

I got a call from an Indian lady who wanted to speak with a guy, only said his first name, no last name. I told her he wasn’t around and she just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from someone saying they were from HMRC, but you could tell English wasn’t their first language because of their heavy Indian accent. When I said I wasn’t going to tell them my name, they just ended the call straight away.
