Had a similar run-in with those numbers, 0121 270 3720 and 01543 648322. The second caller said they were calling from Sky, but I told them we don’t subscribe and ended the call sharpish. The voice definitely seemed like it was coming from one of those call centres in India. Good spot on these numbers!

Why even bother ringing if you’re just gonna be dead silent once someone picks up? What exactly do these idiots hope to achieve with that nonsense?

On 2nd May 2026, I got five calls one after the other, no chance to pick up. The calls came from these numbers: +44 1543 648556 from Cannock +44 1543 648576 also Cannock +44 1895 911009 coming from Uxbridge +44 1543 648556 again from Cannock +44 121 270 3720 located in Birmingham It’s obvious these are connected, probably some scam operation. I’ve blocked them all now, but not sure how much that helps. Hope the authorities step in soon.

I usually dont pick up calls from numbers I dont know, if its important they can just leave a voicemail. These numbers - 01212703720 and 01212703725, plus a few others, have been ringing me repeatedly. Every time I let the answerphone pick up, they hang up straight away. Its so frustrating, these calls happen several times daily. Ive been blocking them but they just come back using slightly different numbers. Its getting really annoying with all these scam calls, someone really needs to find a way to stop them.

This number has been ringing me on and off, sometimes during the day, sometimes in the middle of the night. Since I never share my landline number with anyone, I immediately suspected it was a scam. Turns out, from all these reviews, I was right to be cautious.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent sayin I was due a refund of at least £150 on some home appliance insurance. I quickly told him, "Mate, I don't have any insurance like that." Then I told him to jog on. Strangely, he just hung up after that.

On the evening of 27th April 2022, around 8:20pm, I got a call from 01212703720. A woman with an Indian accent was telling me about a £190 refund, claiming it was for some “washing machine warranty” charge that was taken by mistake. I told her, "You’re talking nonsense, don’t waste my time," and promptly ended the call. Honestly, I wasn’t in the best mood - already in bed feeling unwell, and I’d been waiting on news about a beloved family member who’d passed away earlier that day. So, sorry for the blunt words!

This morning my 84-year-old gran got a call from 01212703720 saying they'd accidentally withdrawn money from her account. They had pretty much all her info apart from her date of birth. When they asked for it, she told them she’d have to speak to her family first. The caller kept going on about how trustworthy and professional they were, but my gran’s been caught out by similar scams before and knows not to share anything. When she refused to give them the DOB, they hung up quite quickly.

I just got a message claiming I was entitled to a refund of £119 for my washing machine insurance. When I inquired about the specific machine, they initially said it was a Hotpoint-wrong! Then they took a wild stab at Hoover, which was also incorrect. When they asked where I bought it from, they mentioned both a shop and a market. I finally told them they clearly needed to look into this a bit further.

Got a call about a refund for some washing machine insurance. My husband kinda played him for a bit since the guy knew where we lived. That’s when my husband called him out for being a scammer and ended the call.

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent asking for me by name, saying they wanted to give me a refund for a washing machine. Claimed it was a Hotpoint under warranty, but that’s not my washer at all. I told them straight away and called over a mate to listen in. Then they started rattling off my address and kept saying the machine was definitely a Hotpoint. So I made up a fake brand name and suddenly they’re like, "Oh, sorry, that’s the one!" I couldn’t help laughing and just ended the call. Honestly, not a very convincing scam at all.

Somebody called me claiming it was about getting money back for a washing machine. I told them straight up, this sounds like a scam, and I’m not falling for it. They tried ringing me later the same day, but I just ignored the call.

Got a call from this number just now. Some bloke with an accent kept yabbering on about a washing machine contract. I told him straight up he was a scammer and to piss off, then he just dropped the call. Total scam attempt!

Just got a call from 01212703720 trying the old washing machine insurance refund trick. I really hope loads of older folks and vulnerable people have been tuning in to BBC daytime shows like Scam Interceptors and spotted these scammers a mile off. Big shoutout to Rav Wilding and the crew at BBC Glasgow for exposing these con artists!

Was informed that I could reclaim £119 from a past overpayment on a insurance policy - sounds a bit suspect, doesn't it?

Got a call about a refund for overpaying on a household gadget. The bloke asked if my name was something I didn’t recognise, so I said no. Then I asked when this supposed appliance was purchased, and he said 3 or 4 years ago. I told him I hadn’t bought anything like that in ages, definitely not that recently, so he’s got to be trying to scam me.

01212703720 - Been getting a few calls like this lately so I let it ring till it stops then I looked it up. Turns out it's a scam from what others say. I'm an oldie from Edinburgh and definitely don’t want these annoying calls.

I received a call from someone asking for a name that didn’t ring any bells for me. When I informed them that the individual they were after wasn’t reachable at this number, the caller rather rudely responded with a 'bugger off then'. Quite the surprise, really!

Got a call from someone abroad saying I was due £119 back on a washing machine guarantee I never even bought. Total con, clearly. Why isn’t the government cracking down on these scammers yet? It’s so annoying!

Total scam alert! This bloke called me claiming he wanted to give me £151 back that was supposedly wrongly taken from my account. Had a bit of a foreign accent, sounded like he might’ve been from Pakistan or India. I just told him to jog on and hung up straight away.

Got a call from an Asian guy claiming I overpaid £119 on a warranty and wanted to give me a refund. When he asked for my bank details, I told him to just post a cheque instead. He came back with some excuse about Covid making that impossible. Pretty obvious scam, so I hung up right away.

I had a rather dreadful phone call this morning - some individual purporting to be "Rachel" was exceedingly impolite and downright offensive. The moment I questioned her sales spiel, she unleashed a torrent of foul language that was truly astounding. It's rather perplexing why this scam continues to operate unchecked; it’s quite obvious to anyone with a modicum of sense that it’s not above board.

SCAM CALL ALERT! I received a rather dodgy phone call today. The chap on the other end mistakenly referred to me as Mrs ### (definitely not my name) and inquired if my postcode was ### (close enough to my actual postcode, I suppose). When I responded with a tentative “Yes,” he proceeded to inform me that I was supposedly entitled to £119 from my washing machine warranty-though I’ve never forked out for any warranty in my life! He then wanted to know which bank account I’d prefer the 'refund' to be sent to. I decided to keep him engaged for about five minutes, and I asked him how it felt to rise and shine each day, knowing he was preying on the elderly and vulnerable. I really wanted to know if his family was proud of his shady dealings and whether he thought his mother dreamed this life for him while cradling her little boy. Unsurprisingly, he didn't offer any enlightening responses, but I reckon my chat must have kept him from targeting a more gullible or unsuspecting victim for just that little bit longer. If more of us could dedicate a few minutes to stringing these individuals along, we might just manage to hit them where it hurts financially!

I rang them up again and mentioned they'd actually phoned the police station... Their response? They claimed they were calling to organise a refund for a washing machine... can you believe it? That's right, at the police station! I have to hand it to the caller for stubbornly adhering to their little scam routine!

Got a call around 8.30 in the evening from someone with a foreign accent claiming I was owed £119 as a refund for some insurance linked to my last washing machine purchase. I told them I’m not even insured with them, so I don’t think that’s right. They would’ve probably asked for my bank details next, trying to scam me by pretending to owe me money. I just hung up straight away because I keep getting these kinds of calls trying to fish out my bank info. Now I’m super cautious about answering any similar calls. Honestly, I don’t mind just hanging up on them.

BEWARE OF SCAMS! If you get dodgy calls or texts, make sure you report them straight away through the police fraud reporting site. Just search ‘action fraud’ and head to the police.uk website. Look for the page about reporting phishing and fraud attempts, and read all the info there. Then put in the details of the scam, including any suspicious links or website addresses. You don’t need to sign up or give personal info unless money’s been lost. Logging every scam call or message helps the police keep track and fight back against these criminals.

Got a call about a washing machine warranty refund - mine’s like 25 years old, so obviously rubbish! I ended up chatting with the guy for about 7 minutes. He kept pushing for my bank info, asking over and over again - probably around 20 times! I just kept pretending to check while he got more and more desperate. I’m hoping I wasted his time so he couldn’t scam anyone else. You could hear loads of other scammers in the background shouting about some £119 refund deal. Honestly, never ever give out your details to these people!

I got a phone call from this number saying I was due a refund on washing machine insurance. Thing is, I never took out any insurance for my washing machine! It felt like a total con, especially when they started asking for my bank info to send the 'refund'. Feels like they were trying to nick my money instead. If this number is so dodgy and well known, why isn't the police or whoever cracking down on them already?

Got a call from 01212703720 about some washing machine insurance, but the voice on the other end sounded foreign and kept whistling down the phone. Best way to shut them up is to add the number to a Do Not Call list, lots of folks do that and it usually stops the hassle.
