I received a rather bewildering phone call earlier, where the chap on the line claimed he was looking to verify my information for some trading account. I straight up told him that I hadn't signed up for anything of the sort. Then, out of the blue, he turned a bit hostile, insisting that I must have some sort of account, as he couldn't fathom why he'd call otherwise. Well, I wasn't having any of it and shot back, suggesting he was likely running some dodgy scam. He didn't take too kindly to that and promptly ended the call on his side. I can only surmise he was yet another one of those pesky telemarketers or scammers. He had quite the Southern accent, too.

For goodness' sake, can someone in charge please take action against these incessant cold calls? I typically ignore them, but it's incredibly frustrating, particularly when they choose to ring at the most inconvenient hours. It’s high time we put a stop to this annoyance!

I didn’t get any response from them, so I’m led to think it’s likely a scam in one way or another.

Picked up the phone, and a voice inquired if it was indeed xxxx xxxxx (my full name). I confirmed, and the voice continued with something that was a bit garbled-definitely sounded American, yet I got the impression it was rather mechanical. I mentioned that I couldn't quite catch what they said, and suspected they might have called earlier; I noticed a missed call from this number. Just like that, the call abruptly ended on their side. I'm a tad worried this might be some sort of scheme to link my name to my phone number for less-than-reputable purposes. Earlier, I had a missed call from the very same number but thought better than to return it, figuring if it were legitimate, a message would have been left. However, the second call took me by surprise-and clearly, I answered without checking the caller ID.

Received a phone call well past 10 in the evening, which is quite frankly outrageous... Can anyone shed light on who this might be and what they are after? Is this some sort of late-night rendezvous they’re after?
