Someone rang me claiming they needed to verify my info for a trading account. I told them I’d never signed up for anything like that. They soon got a bit pushy, saying I must have done, “otherwise why else would I be on the phone?” I pushed back, accusing them of trying to scam me, and then they just cut the call. Pretty sure it was a scam or a telemarketer. They spoke with a southern English accent.

Honestly, these cold calls are getting out of hand. I never pick up, but it’s so frustrating when they keep ringing, especially in the middle of the night. Can’t someone in charge do something about this? It’s really annoying to be disturbed at such odd times.

I didn’t pick up, most likely some kind of scam call.

I picked up the phone and a voice asked if I was xxxx xxxxx (my full name). I said yes, but what they said next was pretty hard to catch - sounded like an American accent, but now I think it was some kind of robotic voice. I told them I couldn’t make out what they were saying and mentioned I’d had a missed call from this number earlier. Then they just hung up on me. It felt a bit dodgy, like they were trying to match my name to this number for some sort of scam. I’d seen the missed call earlier but ignored it, figured if it was important they’d leave a message. But the follow-up call caught me off guard so I just answered without checking who was calling.

Received a call past 10 in the evening, seriously not on... like, who are these people and what do they actually want, was that some sort of cheeky late night invite or what?
