I then asked about the weather there, but the bloke wouldn't say a word. I also tried to get their head office address, but he said it was private and he couldn’t give it out. Got a call from someone saying I owe money, but they had no clue who I was or where I live. They kept insisting I had some debt with their firm and were trying to get my full name and address. I told them, if I really owed anything, surely they’d already have my details. Then out of nowhere, they called me a rude name and just hung up.

I wasn't able to catch their name properly, but when I told them if they’d called me before, they’d know who it was, they didn’t have an answer. I’ve had a ring from this number twice now. You can clearly hear the typical call centre buzz in the background. Based in Dublin, Ireland, I got a couple of calls from quite similar numbers over the last few days. I ended up blocking some but eventually picked up one call and there was no greeting or anything... just silence on the other end before they abruptly ended the call. My number is set to private, but I did list a car on Carzone and Dondeal recently. Makes me wonder if those platforms are sharing our details or if these scammers are scraping info directly from those ads.

Got a call on my mobile from someone speaking English with a Midlands accent. The caller just said “Watch your mouth” and then instantly cut me off. Quite odd!

Had a really pushy call from a firm that’s not based in Europe and isn’t under any European Trade Council rules. I spent nearly an hour on the phone yesterday, doing my best to say no politely, but I couldn’t help but call out their dodgy behaviour. They ask for a 300 euro fee to “help” with managing investments, but won’t say how they got my number or even my name. It all felt very suspicious. They push you deals involving bitcoin and stocks, but if you dig a bit, it’s clear it’s all scams where they profit when you lose. The last straw was when they tried to remotely access my laptop. I said I had sensitive info on there, and the caller just laughed it off, saying “I won’t need that.” Absolutely sketchy! My advice is just don’t pick up and block them if you get calls from numbers with London, Birmingham, Austria, or Croatia prefixes. They’re clearly up to no good.
