Got a call from Secure Home Care about our plumbing and drainage. Not sure what it was about exactly but seemed like some sort of service or cover they offer. Just thought I’d mention it in case anyone else got the same.

I received a call from someone claiming to represent the Estate Protect Group based in South West London. They were discussing some recent changes in government policy that supposedly jeopardised my property should I need to enter a care home. There were quite noticeable lags between my inquiries and his responses. A lot of what he said seemed quite formulaic, often repeating phrases like “I see”, “go ahead” and “I’m still getting the hang of it”. It didn’t take long for me to realise I was likely conversing with a voice recognition system that was processing my questions and trying to respond accordingly. When I tossed out some nonsense just to test it, “he” struggled to keep up and eventually gave up altogether, ending the call. Quite a peculiar experience! I’ve flagged this number as potentially hazardous; it’s the sort of thing that might catch someone unawares.

About an hour back, I got a ring from this number. I wasn’t home at the time, but since I've got BT true call set up to block annoying calls and there was no voicemail left, I’m guessing it was just some kind of scam.

I reckon this number gets used for all sorts of calls. When I picked up, some bloke was going on about some new law that forces people to sell their houses if they move into care homes. I told him over and over that I don’t own the place, I rent it. But he just kept yammering on like he didn’t understand, till finally it dawned on him and he hung up.

Got a call from what they said was a home energy firm, telling me I was on an incorrect tariff and that I'd get some sort of refund and updated info. It was an automated message that just kept going even after I tried to get their phone number. I've blocked the number now.

It would be wise to steer clear of this individual. He’s nothing more than a fraudster, specifically preying on vulnerable elderly folks who may be facing health issues. He introduced himself as John from a medical alert service and falsely asserted that I qualified for a medical alert device in case of an emergency. Do yourself a favour and block this deceiver! Remain vigilant, everyone!

Got a call from a bloke claiming to be from a "medical alert centre," telling me if I'm over 50 I might get a free alert device. He spoke English really well and sounded polite. When I asked who exactly he was, he just said "ok" and hung up. Feels like it was some kind of scam to me.

I received a call from a chap speaking English who asserted he was associated with the NHS. He mentioned something about me qualifying for a health tag. The nerve he had, asking if I was over fifty and if I needed any help with my mobility! I told him straight to stop chatting nonsense, as I’m perfectly fine in that department. It’s clearly a dodgy call-how on earth could he presume to know about my health when he hasn’t a clue who I am? Total scam artist!
