I found myself in a rather frustrating situation where I had to repeat my question about which company he was representing on four separate occasions. It was rather tiresome as he kept interrupting me. Eventually, he revealed that he was with Carphone Warehouse. I mentioned that I'd recently signed a new contract with another provider just last week, which is indeed the case. Still, he persisted, claiming they would buy out my fresh contract despite it obviously being quite a cost to them, and he threw in an offer for free Apple Music as a sweetener. On the 18th of October, 2021, I received a call from someone who utterly failed to identify themselves or specify the purpose of their call. When I inquired for more details regarding their identity and the reason for their call, they abruptly terminated the conversation without further ado.

Complete scammers, but I must say, they seem quite charming. They pretend to be from Carphone Warehouse, enticing you with offers to buy or upgrade your phone at a discount. Then, before you've had a chance to catch your breath, they order the latest model in your name without your consent. The following day, you receive a call claiming there was a mix-up with the delivery. They then pressure you into sending a phone to some private address to sort things out, while leaving you with a binding 24-month contract to pay off. It’s a foolproof scam for sure!
