The person on the other end inquired if I was aged over 50 and then followed up with a rather intrusive question about whether I used a walking stick. So my missus was the one who picked up the phone and this really polite bloke started off by saying sorry and that we’re on their no call list, so they won’t ring again. I reckon the reason he was so civil is because I'm the sort who gets a bit bored and likes to keep telemarketers chatting for ages - I throw in daft questions, pretend I can’t hear properly and ask them to speak up, then I go on about what they had for dinner or ask about their favourite movie. This morning about half past nine, I got a call on my home phone. They were saying I qualified for a medical alert bracelet since I was over 80. Not sure if it was some robot or a real person though, the line was terrible and kept echoing. I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away. Honestly, I treat these random calls as suspicious or a bit dodgy - most often it’s just scammers trying to con you out of your cash.
