Then out of nowhere, he started grilling me about life insurance. When I confirmed I had some, the call just ended there. He seemed to already know my address and email yet never asked for any other info before cutting off. The bit that really gave it away was him wanting to know which company I had my insurance with - definitely not a legit Covid survey but just a sneaky way to push insurance products.

Definitely seemed sketchy!

Got a missed call from somewhere in my home area so I thought I’d give it a ring back. No luck though, the number didn’t pick up. Probably one of those calls I should just blacklist. Got a call on my phone and they already knew my name - how on earth did they find that out? The person said they were ringing from some Government Health Survey about Covid-19, asking if I’d had my vaccine. I’ve got a little trick for these situations - I always ask where the caller is actually located. This guy said he was based on Victoria Street in London, so I asked him for the postcode. Then he stumbled and said something starting with SH... Anyone familiar with London postcodes will know that’s not a real one at all. Plus, the number they called me from was 01206, which is actually Colchester, nowhere near London! Feels dodgy to me!

Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent, he was mentioning the NHS stuff. Asked if I’d had my two jabs, I said yes. Then he wanted to know if I had any side effects, I told him I had a temperature for a bit. He checked if I felt better now, I told him it was ages ago, so yeah, I'm fine. Mentioned my arm was still a bit sore from the booster. He asked again if I was fully recovered, and I said yeah. Then he started talking about booking something on an app and asked if I had insurance. I said yes but wasn’t sure which company. He made me guess and rattled off some names. Told him none of those, and that I had no clue who my insurer was, then he just hung up 🤷🏻‍♀️

Got a call from an Asian guy who said he was checking NHS records. He went on about whether I’d had both Covid jabs and wanted to update my details, asked if I’d even heard of the NHS! I kept telling him all my info’s fine but he kept saying he couldn’t hear me properly. Eventually, I just ended the call and blocked the number.

They asked if I’d had any problems with my jab, and I said if there were any issues, the NHS would have it on record, and I’d have been in touch myself. Then they said they had to ask some verification questions, and when I asked why, the guy suddenly switched and asked if I had life insurance. I asked what that had to do with the jab and my NHS records, but he just said he needed to update details. I told him it was none of the NHS’s business if I have life insurance, so why ask? He ignored that and pressed for who my provider was. I repeated again that it wasn’t relevant to the NHS, so what was he after? Then he hung up on me. I’ve reported it to Ofcom as a spam call.
