I answered but no one said a word. How on earth did they get hold of my phone number? I only share it with my GP, close family, and my bank. This is so annoying.

I didnt pick up because the number was unfamiliar. Reading these reviews helped me see that its probably a scam. Very useful info!

Had a bit of a run-in with them as they attempted to pitch me some sort of “phone deal.” When I expressed my doubts, suggesting it sounded rather dodgy, the chap on the line went on the defensive. To top it off, their command of English left much to be desired.

Got a call earlier from someone claiming to be from PC World and Currys, trying to pitch me a new iPhone contract. I’m pretty sure Currys just sells the phones, not the contracts! Didn’t hang about, just ended the call straight away.

I was busy with work so I just let it ring, didn’t know the number anyway. Later on, I decided to check who it was by looking it up.

Just got a call from 01206 592016, but as soon as I picked up, they ended the call. Very weird!

Got a call from someone saying they were from Carphone Warehouse offering a brilliant deal. I told him to hang on while I grabbed my credit card info to sort it out then and there. He never even mentioned what the offer was about! He just kept going on with a strong Indian accent, all polite and thankful. That’s when I told him to do one and ended the call!

They said they were from Carphone Warehouse, but honestly, it seemed dodgy, probably some kind of scam.

No idea who that was, but it seemed like spam so I’ve just blocked the number!

Got a call from them but all I got was a voicemail with nothing but heavy breathing on the other end. Pretty weird.

It sounded like a call centre, I ended up hanging up as soon as I asked who was calling.

Got a call from someone saying they were from car phone warehouse, which was odd cos that company closed down ages ago! They were trying to sell me some fancy new Samsung phone with unlimited stuff for £40 a month. Definitely dodgy, so I didn’t share any details with them.

I picked up the phone and stayed on for like 10 seconds, but then they just ended the call without a word. Pretty sure it was a scam.

Total scam, don’t fall for it!

No clue who that was, I just let it ring off. Over the last week or so, I’ve had loads of calls like this, all coming from different numbers in Colchester and Bolton. No idea what I’ve done to get so much attention lately! Anyway, I’ve blocked this number now - 01206 592016.

Some bloke named Ben rang me claiming he was from Three, offering some upgrade stuff. Said he was from a UK network but couldn’t even say my name right. Told him he sounded like a total scammer and just chucked the phone down on him.

Some bloke rang me saying he was from Carphone Warehouse. He wanted to know what network I’m on and what phone I have. Then he started quizzing me about how much I pay for my contract. I told him I’m only 16 and haven’t even been to Carphone Warehouse in ages. After that, he said he was 22 years old and it sounded like there were loads of people chatting in the background. He just kept pressing me about my phone bill price. I asked him to remove my number and not to call again, but he just wouldn’t stop asking questions.

After checking out all these reviews, I decided to just block the number.

They claimed to be from an energy firm, but you could hear loads of people chatting in the background like a call centre. They mentioned being from Colchester too. I just ended the call and blocked them straight away.

Got a call from Carphone Warehouse, but it turned out to be spam. Not impressed at all.

Got a call from an automated power dialer the other day, but there was nobody actually speaking on the line. Then I heard some weird noises like someone was attempting to patch the call through before it suddenly cut off. Been noticing quite a few of these calls lately with the same kind of behaviour - all seem to be either spam or scams. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number.

Received a call from this number, picked up but there was complete silence on the other end. Ended the call, looked it up on whocalledme and decided to block it straight away.

I haven't got a clue who it might be. Gave it a ring back only to find it's an active number that disconnects after a few seconds. Seems a bit dodgy, but I'm not ready to jump to conclusions just yet. It'll be curious to see if they decide to reach out again.

Got a call from +44 1206 592016, total nuisance and obviously a scam trying to harass me. Wouldn't answer if you get it!

Got a call on my landline but they never left a message on the answering machine. Then about half an hour later, the same number called my mobile. I picked up but all I heard was silence. Ended up hanging up and blocking that number straight away - looks like some kind of phishing scam to me.

Got a call on my mobile from some number I’ve never seen before - no idea who it was.

Got a missed call but no voicemail left. I’m just going to block the number. Just yesterday, some scammer rang me up about “phone services” and hung up right after I asked what the call was about. That one’s blocked too. These pesky scammers are everywhere. Best not to pick up on unknown numbers. Real companies don’t usually cold call like that.

Lately, I've been getting loads of scam calls. I didn’t get to answer this one, but a quick search showed it’s probably just another scam trying to con folks. So, I’ve blocked the number!

I ignored the call cause Google flagged it as spam, then I checked this site and honestly, I’m not shocked at all.

Got a missed call from 01206592016 today (12th October). Funny thing is, just a minute before, I saw a call from almost the same number but it ended with 19. Neither of them left a voicemail or tried calling back again. Bit strange if you ask me.

They called and asked if anyone was available, then just put me on hold with music playing. I ended up hanging up.

In the past day, I've seen calls from this number ending with a 7 pop up twice. Didn't pick up either time.

There was a call from a number I didn’t know. I usually don’t pick up calls from strangers, so I just ignored it.

Number showed up flagged as possible spam, called me a couple times but left no message. Someone else mentioned it was about an iPhone deal. I’m with O2 too, don’t own an iPhone, and my contract’s still running, so I just blocked it.

I got a call from someone claiming they were with Carphone Warehouse, but I know that company shut down ages ago. They were trying to push me into switching my contract over or something. I wasn’t about to fall for it, so I told them I wasn’t interested and that they shouldn’t pretend they’re from a place that doesn’t even exist anymore. I also told them to stop calling me again.

After seeing the reviews on this site, I decided to block the number straightaway.

Answered my phone and heard some weird message about being the only one in a conference call, then the call just dropped out of nowhere.

This was definitely a con. I called the bloke out on it and he just started being rude. It’s the exact same scam that had me getting calls from a different area code not too long ago.

Got a call from this number and as soon as I picked up, they ended the call. Since then I tried calling back about 17 times, withholdin my number on 10 of them but they just keep refusing to pick up. Seems like some sort of scam from the UK. After seeing all the comments here, I’ve just gone ahead and blocked the number.

The caller kept ringing me, switching just one digit in the number each time - ended up ringing from like eight different numbers! They pretended to be from car phone warehouse or something. Proper annoying.

I got a call from someone pretending to be with Carphone Warehouse, and they even had my wife’s first name and my mobile number. They went on about the “Telephone Preference Service” - which honestly feels useless - expecting me to just say ok and hang up. But I kept the agent on the line, a bloke named “Peter Wilson,” who insisted his call was totally legit. I even managed to speak briefly to his supervisor, “Katherine Pierce,” trying to get my details off their list. I ended up reporting it to TPS and got a reply like this: Thank you for letting us know about the unsolicited marketing call you got, despite your number being registered with TPS or CTPS. As you might know, TPS can't track which companies are making these calls and relies on complainants to identify them. Even though you provided the company’s details, our previous checks show they aren’t responsible for such calls. It seems their name’s being used by a copycat or their number’s been spoofed. Unfortunately, we couldn’t pin down the real culprit. TPS also can’t trace incoming calls. While we couldn’t lodge an official complaint against the company, we’ll include this info in our regular report to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), who enforces these regulations. All complaints we handle get passed on to the ICO, assisting their work in tackling nuisance calls. The ICO uses this data to focus on the worst offenders and does issue fines for breaches. At one point this number rang me but didn't leave any message.

The bloke called me by my first name, which threw me off. He had quite a thick accent. I cut him off and told him to delete my number right away. He wouldn’t have it and said he’d ring me daily now. So, I just ended the call. But seriously, who’s gonna stop these pesters? It’s getting annoying.
