Upon answering the call, I was immediately confronted by a robotic voice informing me that my Amazon Prime subscription was coming to an end and claiming that an automatic charge would be applied. The message urged me to hit 1 should I wish to speak with a representative. Sadly, taking that option leads straight into a scammer's trap - it’s that straightforward.

Got a call at 8:16 this morning from a robot claiming it was Amazon. Said my Prime subscription is ending but it'll renew automatically unless I press 1 to cancel. Oddly, this is the opposite of those scams where they try to force you into paying!
