I received a call from a chap claiming to be from a Covid-19 helpdesk, informing me it was a government survey regarding whether my life insurance would protect me in the event of a Covid-related illness. When I called back for clarification on why they were interested in my coverage amount, especially since they claimed they weren't selling anything, he stated it would help them determine if I was covered for Covid. The first call, I hung up on the guy, but then he dialed me again. When it became clear I wasn't going to engage, he disconnected the line. On the second call, I kindly stated my disinterest in participating in the survey, yet he persisted in asking about my insurance provider. I asked him quite directly what part of "I don't wish to answer" he didn’t grasp. I then promptly hung up on him. I’ve blocked both numbers, but I suspect they’ll just ring me from a different one soon!

Got another call from someone with an Indian accent, claiming to be from Credit Suisse about some debt I supposedly owe. When I questioned him, he just hung up - classic scammer move. These phone numbers should definitely be blocked and reported to the authorities. I bet if an elderly person answered, they’d fall for it and get scammed badly. Seems like these folks don’t know the meaning of honest work, despite coming from a place that was meant to be full of promise.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent asking about any unsecured debts I might have and how much they were. When I pushed back, he claimed his info showed I owed around £3,000 and was having money troubles. I didn’t admit to anything (which isn’t the case!). I let him carry on, saying he was talking about some government plan to erase debt interest-free. I told him I’d check online and sort it myself if needed, no middlemen. No clue if it’s legit or not.
