Someone rang me saying they were with this firm called ‘Past Investments’. They added that they got my number from a place called ‘Buffalo’, which apparently rang me a couple of days back. The strange thing is, the only odd call I had recently was from a group saying they were from BT - that was unwanted too. Before I could ask more, the bloke just hung up mentioning he was ‘really busy’. Honestly, steer clear of these ‘car crash’ type calls, they’re a nightmare.

Goodwin Barrett kept ringing non stop, using a London line to try and get my wife on the phone about some dodgy investments. They said they were based in Bolton, which is true, but refused to take no for an answer. We've had about ten calls since the 6th of March now. I’d be shocked if they don’t eventually cop a hefty fine for pestering. Surely, we’re not the only ones getting bothered with their pointless and constant calls.

I've received three phone calls from them just since yesterday, all concerning "investment opportunities" and querying whether I've had any poor investments lately! (As a rule, I don't dabble in investments, nor do I plan to anytime soon!) Although I may be 82, I’m certainly not gullible enough to fall for phone or online scams. That said, I’m conscious of how many older folks can be easily misled into making poor decisions.
