This has been quite baffling. We've had repeated calls from a company saying they're Harringtons Advisory Ltd, trying to get us to claim back PPI. My wife made it clear that, to the best of our knowledge, we have no PPI claims, but they kept pushing, insisting they could verify themselves. She told them to carry on if they liked but wouldn't share any bank details, only the names of banks involved. They promised no fees if their checks turned up nothing. Later, those calls came from the same number but when we looked it up, it’s actually linked to a firm called Goodwin Barrett? They began demanding our bank account info, which my wife refused to give. She also asked them to stop contacting us, yet they kept ringing relentlessly. Most recently, they've said because we're refusing to hand over details and want no contact, we owe them a withdrawal fee for a service that was unsolicited and unwanted from the start. It’s all pretty dodgy and has been a right nuisance.

I've had loads of calls from them over the last week. Someone mentioned earlier on here it’s a company called Goodwin Barrett, so I looked them up. Turns out they deal with missold investment claims. Luckily, my phone allows me to block annoying numbers, and I've already blocked over 50 of these pesty calls! Seems like being on the Telephone Preference Service doesn't stop them at all, which is pretty frustrating.

They claimed the call was about a survey done on 2/5/17. That’s odd because I live by myself and was abroad on that exact day. They promised to take my number off their list. Just to add on from the previous comments, it’s for sure Goodwin Barrett calling. You ring their 141 number then switch to the 0808 one, and they pick up, say sorry, and promise to remove your number from their calling list. You could play a bit of a game and use this to bug them back - it’ll cost them rather than you! I’ve done it a couple times myself. Might give it another go later. Feels good getting some payback!
