They just rang me but I didn't pick up, and didn't bother to leave a voicemail. Definately not anywhere near Bolton, just another dodgy number. Looking at the comments, this has got to be the most claimed number by loads of firms trying to con people. I hadn't received a scam call for a few weeks and was almost starting to miss the hassle.

Got a call from 'Bank Security' saying my card was used on Amazon for £300, then another £1500. They told me to press 1 to stop payments or 2 to chat with security. Hung up straight away, sounded like a total scam to me.

Yet again, I get a call telling me I've been hit with two fees on my bank account. I've had loads of calls like this, and if it was true, my bank would be rolling in cash, like it’s backed by some wealthy tycoon or a fund in London for lavish parties and worse. Today, some so-called CEO from Finance UK wrote about fraud and social media being the main problem. Honestly, she should get off her comfy chair and maybe have a look at the flood of complaints here, and realise we deal with scam attempts every single day, often even getting threatened when we call these muppets out.

Got a call from someone saying they were from Curry’s about my O2 phone, but it smelt like a total scam trying to grab my bank info. When I asked why Curry’s would be calling about O2 business accounts, the bloke just hung up straight away. Sure, maybe one person in a thousand actually bought a phone for Christmas from Curry’s on the O2 network, but it only takes one to fall for it and hand over their details for these scammers to make off with cash.

This is definitely a dodgy number pretending to represent O2, but it's clear it's not the real deal. The accent was strongly Indian, typical of one of those call centre scams. After I cut the call short, I received a callback from a different UK number, where they again insisted they were from O2. It's outrageous!

I received a call from an Indian gentleman claiming to be from O2, stating that I was entitled to a 40% discount on my bill because of Covid, along with a complimentary Christmas hamper. Naturally, I was curious and asked how that was possible, seeing as I hadn’t received any communication from O2 regarding this. He started to get a bit sassy, insisting that I wasn't paying attention and then asked for my address. I found that a bit odd, as he seemed to imply he didn’t need that information. Before I could press him further, he abruptly ended the call. Very fishy indeed!

Hello, it’s “Insert different name here” representing “Insert another company here.” Dealing with these fraudulent callers is quite the nuisance, isn’t it? I’ve found a rather amusing tactic-start chatting away in a tongue they’re not expecting, preferably one that isn’t English. You’d be amazed at how flustered they become! In my experience, they often give up after that and refrain from bothering you again. It's rather entertaining, really!

I had a rather peculiar experience with a chap who had an accent that made me think he might be from India. He rang me claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse. When I requested to be taken off their call list, he exclaimed 'why why why' in a rather boisterous manner. Deciding to call the number back, I was greeted by a recorded message that said 'welcome to Cosmos'. This clearly had nothing to do with Carphone Warehouse at all. So, I've swiftly added that number to my blocked list!
