Got a call claiming to be from the local council asking for a rundown of any repairs or issues. I tried to keep them talking for about ten minutes, hoping they’d catch on I was just messing about. Eventually, they twigged and ended the call. Definitely felt like a phishing attempt to me.

got a call where they used my name and said it was some sort of council investigation, then asked how frequently the council fixes my place. I own my house tho, so how on earth did they know my name?

I've had a bunch of calls from different 01204 numbers recently, so I've just gone ahead and blocked them all.

I received yet another call this week from this number, or perhaps one quite like it. The last few times, the caller either hung up or remained silent when I picked up. Today, the voice was rather difficult to decipher, but eventually it became clear that it was someone purporting to be from a 'Housing Association' inquiring about incomplete repairs on my residence. Quite obviously a scam, as I've owned this home for over twelve years now, and it dates back to 1953 with just two previous owners. This isn’t exactly the type of property a Housing Association would handle-it’s a spacious four-bedroom detached house sitting on seven acres, complete with stables for horses. It’s baffling what they think they will gain from this ruse.

Dodgy car crash scam alert! Stay vigilant, everyone! Just to clarify, I don’t own a car, nor do I possess a driving licence. This bloke on the other end insisted I’d been part of an automotive mishap recently, but apparently, it wasn't my doing. He went on about wanting to assist me in obtaining some insurance payout. However, I promptly hung up when he started fishing for my banking information. Quite the cheek, if you ask me!

They called asking straight away for the CEO by name, mentioning something about an HRC initiative. Wouldn't say what company they were from unless I pressed them, which felt pretty dodgy. Honestly, it seemed like such a pointless call for them to make.

Has anyone picked up when this number rings? I got a couple of missed calls earlier, seems like it could be a robocall or some call centre checking if my number’s active. I usually don’t pick up if I don’t know the number, especially when there’s no voicemail left. Tried to google it for a bit but couldn’t find anything. Anyone got a clue who it might be? Don’t want to call back without knowing who’s on the other end.
