Someone reached out, insisting they were affiliated with a firm investigating housing issues like gaps in roof tiles or problems with the boiler and shower. After mentioning they would reach out to my local council, they asked for my email address. I politely declined to share it with someone I didn’t recognise, and surprisingly, they took it quite well.

I'm really fed up with these calls. Picked up the phone the other day and some asian woman was asking for me by my name, talking about some housing repairs or something. I said I wasn’t bothered and told her to quit ringing me. Even after I blocked the number, they keep calling but just switch up the last three digits. What a bunch of scammers!

Got a call from someone saying they were from my old housing company, wdh. But it was odd because they called at 5:45, and I know their office closes at 4. They asked for me by name then just dropped the call. Plus, wdh are in Wakefield, so why would the number have a Bolton dialling code? Total scammer, blocked straight away!

Got a call around 5:55 pm from what seemed like the same "repair" crew, but they keep using slightly different phone numbers. Definitely looks like a scam.

Got a call from 01204200264, someone who just wouldn't take no for an answer. They said they worked as a surveyor for the council, which was funny because the real local surveyor had been at my place only minutes before doing an inspection. Got a call from someone claiming to follow up on repair work, which I don’t even have done. The background was super loud, like a busy call centre, and the person speaking had a pretty thick Asian accent, didn’t sound like they were from the UK at all.

I told them they’d have to speak to 'my brother' cause he’s the one handling that, though he’s over in Singapore right now. I’ve actually had loads of calls from numbers that look kinda similar to this one. Thinking about blocking all with this prefix, I’ll have a look on my phone to see if I can do that.

Just like everyone else has said, these calls from this particular area code keep coming nonstop. I keep putting them on block but still get calls from numbers that look pretty much the same, sometimes more than once in a day. I never pick up and I’m not even based in the UK where these calls appear to originate, so I honestly can’t understand why they expect me to believe it’s a genuine call.

01204200264 So just an update on my last post - I finally had a proper look at my phone settings and discovered you can block whole prefixes. Now I can stop calls from any number starting like that. I really wish I’d done this ages ago, would've saved me loads of stress. Anyway, goodbye to those annoying calls! Lol.

Just a heads up, be careful who you share your number with on the internet. Since I foolishly entered my info on some random site, I’ve been getting loads of these annoying calls from all sorts of numbers. Had a couple of calls from this number earlier today, about a minute separated them. They’re tweaking the last few digits again on those starting with 01204 200 - last week I got calls ending in 295, 261 and 160. Doesn’t bother me much though. I just don’t pick up from dodgy characters like these, obvious lowlifes if you ask me. Some folks label them scammers, but to me, they ought to just fade back into the muck they came from.

I've received a call from a company named Clear Com, hailing from South Africa, but they're using a number from Bolton. They seem to have acquired personal information and are inquiring whether they can assist with any property-related matters or repairs. It's quite suspicious and appears to be a scam, so I would strongly advise against responding to them.

it’s pretty scary that they’ve got my full name, address, and even my postcode. i told the caller i’d be passing the details on to the police and they just ended the call straight away. seriously, someone needs to step up and deal with these annoying calls, especially since they can really mess with people who are more at risk.
