Everytime I block one of their numbers, another one pops up. They said they were from the housing repairs dept and wanted info about unfinished jobs. They keep babbling on about assisting you with taking legal action against your local authority or housing association due to poorly maintained living conditions. However, it always comes back to them needing ALL your personal details, including banking info, to 'help' you! 😤 It's worth noting that LocalPhone Limited seems to own a whole range of numbers that start with 01204200.

I received a call from this number today, and when I inquired about how they obtained my details, the caller was quite tight-lipped. However, the fact that she had my address sent a shiver down my spine. It felt rather dodgy, so I've decided to block the number altogether.

I got a call where they repeated my name and address, asking me to verify it. Kind of creepy how they already had those details. Then they said they were from the housing association and wanted to know if there was any damp anywhere in my flat. Felt pretty suspicious, like they were fishing for info. I picked up the phone and a really polite voice asked if I knew someone called Diego Salav. I told them I had no idea who that was, and they just said ‘Alright then’ before I ended the call. I’ve had scam calls before where they ask for different names and then try to rope you in by saying ‘maybe you can assist’. Seems like this number has been ringing loads of people with the same story.

Some bloke rang saying he was from a property firm, even knew my name and the start of my address. He talked about fixing issues with the property, but when I asked if they worked with the council, he got a bit shirty and told me they didn’t. I told him it was a cold call and he kinda got defensive. I cut the call pretty quick after that. I didn’t really give away much, but probably said enough to clue him in. It’s so easy to get caught out with these calls, but honestly, a legit company wouldn’t do this sort of thing. Best to steer clear.

They come off as quite convincing, leading you to believe they’re genuinely aiding local authorities and HAs in their efforts. However, that couldn't be further from the truth. They’re actually a so-called ‘no win, no fee’ outfit pressuring tenants to file legal claims against their landlords. I've taken it upon myself to inform my landlord, Peabody, about this situation.
