If you get a call like this, just hang up straight away. They’re after your bank info, supposedly for some call blocking service that doesn’t even exist. Your mobile network or landline provider can sort this for a fraction of the cost, or you could just pick up a cheap blocker yourself. Don’t give these con artists the time of day!

My mother-in-law got a call from this number earlier today, saying she owed £140 and wanted her bank info. Luckily, she didn’t fall for it and didn’t share anything. What freaked me out was that they knew my daughter’s first name - don’t have a clue how they found that out.

My elderly folks got a phone call twice from some bloke saying they’d used his service before at their old home and needed to renew it. Dad told him straight up he wasn’t paying anything and to ring back for me. They called the next day before I got home, so I picked up and warned them to leave my parents alone or I’d report them because the last caller was a bit threatening towards them. He said they wouldn’t do that again. I wasn’t very polite, to be honest. Really recommend telling all your mums and dads not to chat with these kind of callers.

I just got a call demanding £150, saying it’s the last payment after 2 years of free coverage. Turns out it’s another firm from the Bournemouth area. Loads of calls from different ones all asking for the same sum. Tried checking Companies House but can’t find any record of them anywhere.

Got a call on my landline from a man who spoke very clearly, claiming he was from Home Protect. He told me I’d signed up a couple of years back and was paying £20. At first, he was quite polite but as soon as I told him I never paid anything and called it a scam, his tone changed and he got aggressive. I just hung up. What really freaked me out was that he somehow had my bank details, even though I never gave them out.

The guy was a bit dodgy, spoke rubbish English and even made some racist remarks. His tone was aggressive, and he pushed me to give him my bank card info, which I refused. They insisted I signed up with them a couple of years ago and now I supposedly owe £150 as a final payment. They even had some old bank card info of mine, which freaked me out a bit! They claimed they’d contacted my bank to sort the payment and tried to get me to give my new card details over the phone. Nope, I wasn’t having any of it and asked them to send me proper documents first. The person on the other end got pretty nasty and told me I’d face extra fees if I didn’t pay right away! Felt dodgy as hell, so I just ended the call immediately!
