I’m absolutely appalled at the relentless harassment my 87-year-old father has been subjected to by these scammers. His early signs of dementia make him particularly vulnerable, and they're pushing him to consider unnecessary insurance for his television, even suggesting he should insure his other appliances as well! It's deeply concerning that, despite blocking their number on his phone, they may still eventually wear him down. Just recently, I spent countless hours reclaiming money he lost to a similar fraudulent outfit masquerading as the UK Boiler Company Ltd. It’s utterly maddening! We really need stricter measures in place to put a stop to these despicable fraudsters.

Got a call from an Asian woman claiming to be with Homeserve, saying they’re now offering insurance cover for kitchen appliances. She asked loads about the age of my appliances and said everything would be covered under a single policy called Alliance Appliances. She somehow knew my name and some of my financial info. They said I’d get some documents through in about 10 days, but I’m definitely not signing anything. I’ve reported the whole thing to my bank as well. Naturally, I was quite wary and refused to divulge any banking information, so I decided to end the call. She insisted on transferring me to a manager, but I wasn’t keen on that either. I got in touch with a shop nearby where these calls seem to be coming from. They told me I should contact my local trading standards and recommend everyone else do the same. This is definitely a scam and a bit of a con. The police knew about it last year but went silent for about nine months, and now it's happening again. I really think people should report it to Trading Standards and maybe also the TPS.
