Some bloke called saying I was old and ought to have one of those alert buttons. Honestly, the only alert I need is for dodgy calls like this one.

"Alex, the energy consultant" I've had the misfortune of getting five calls from various numbers, all supposedly from 'Alex.' The message is automated and cleverly structured, leaving pauses that trick you into believing you’re chatting with a genuine individual. This nonsense has got to be halted!

This number keeps ringing us pretty much every day, sometimes they'll call 3 or 4 times! Luckily, our phone blocks calls from numbers we don’t know. Today’s call was a bit strange though - they just left the phone off the hook, making it impossible to use. Not sure what their game is but it’s definitely starting to worry us.

So this bloke Alex, calling himself a "local energy advisor," gave us a ring once more. My husband just straight up asked, "Alex, got any proper qualifications?" and that’s when the call just ended. Seems like a scam to me, fishing for gullible folks to hand over as leads to salespeople who’ll try and push energy stuff you really don’t want or need. Proper dodgy if you ask me.

I had a rather peculiar encounter with someone named ‘Alex’. He insisted he wasn't trying to sell me anything, rather he was conducting a survey regarding government grants for energy efficiency initiatives that we could potentially qualify for. However, the moment I probed him about how he had obtained my phone number, the line abruptly went silent. Quite the odd situation, wouldn't you agree?
