Today, I got a couple of calls from someone saying he's "Chris, your local energy guy," ringing from numbers starting with 1202 143 *** (the ending digits kept changing). I'm based in Somerset, nowhere near Bournemouth where he claimed to be local. When I finally picked up, he kept going on about how I supposedly need loft insulation, but my place is pretty new, so that's rubbish. Feels to me like it’s just a sneaky way to try and get into my house.

This number has been blowing up my phone nearly every day for the past three weeks. They even ring late, sometimes after 11:30pm which is just ridiculous. The caller says they’re from some green energy saving group that’s supposedly “working in my area” right now. But if you so much as question what they’re saying or show any doubt, they hang up straight away like you insulted them or something.

Got a call about some kind of "scrap windows and doors" deal. The bloke just kept going on and wouldn’t listen when I tried to get a word in, so I ended up hanging up. Then, less than an hour later, another call came from a number almost the same, just the last two digits changed. Definitely a scam.

In the past few days, I've had about half a dozen calls from various 01202 numbers. The caller, always going by 'Chris', claims to be the local agent for our area - which seems dodgy since he also mentions he's based in south west London, and we’re more than 200 miles from there! He goes on about some register of homes with outdated loft insulation. But the moment you ask for details about this register, he just hangs up. They keep switching up numbers within that 01202 code. Pretty obvious that it’s a scam.

I got a call from someone saying his name was "hris" around the 01202 143157 number, talking about insulation. When I asked questions, he just ended the call. Claimed he was from 'local' area but this number’s from Bournemouth which is nowhere near where I live. Quite dodgy if you ask me.

Getting calls nearly every day from numbers beginning with 01202. It looks like they’ve got loads of phone numbers starting with that code. For example, yesterday it was 01202 143082 and today I got a call from 01202 143157. We’ve got a block function on our phone, and so far we’ve blacklisted around six of these numbers. The trouble started when we picked up the very first call, which I think made our number more visible to them. Besides manually blocking each new number, does anyone know a better way to put an end to this?

Got a call from some bloke called Chris, sounded like a regular British guy, saying he was from a green energy place in West London. Thing is, he called my dodgy Bournemouth number, and the call was awful quality. Straight away he started quizzing me about my loft insulation, which caught me off guard. I didn’t want to give anything away, so I tried to suss out who he really was. Then, just like that, he dropped the call. When I tried to ring back, all I got was one of those “service can’t be connected” messages. Proper weird.

Just like loads of folks, I've had calls from Chris, who claims to be a local energy advisor. Doesn’t matter where you live, he seems to have a “local” number for every place. I’ve gotten his calls back in February, September, and now again in November. Some of the numbers he’s ringing from are 01202 159157 and 01134 027246, which is a Leeds code. If you decide to ring him back, beware - he’ll try some dodgy scam and you end up footing the bill for the call. Don’t let yourself get caught out and feel annoyed afterwards.

Just got a call from someone claiming to be an energy advisor. He said loads of people nearby had issues with damp in their loft insulation and offered a free check. I kept telling him I didn’t have any problems with damp or insulation and wasn’t interested. After me saying this over and over, he finally gave up and ended the call.

I've gotten three calls from a bloke claiming to be Tom, an "energy adviser." Every single time I tell him to remove my number from his list. He kicks off by mentioning something about loft insulation I supposedly had done. Thing is, I never had any loft insulation fitted, so it's obviously a dodgy call trying to fish for info. I’m signed up to the telephone preference service, but they say they can’t do anything unless I find out the company name, even though I provided them with the number, the call time, and what was said. Proper frustrating.

Couldn't catch his name. Claimed to be from the local energy firm and said the loft insulation we had installed was the wrong type, liable to go mouldy and needed swapping out. When I asked what gave him that info, he said he’d been given a list of people who’d recently improved their homes. Then he asked if I owned the house. I said no, just to see what he'd say. He just said goodbye and wished me a nice afternoon.

So this number belongs to some bloke called Stuart Wright, over at 21a Plymouth Road, Barnt Green, Birmingham, B45 8JF. Well, at least now we’ve got a clue where this con artist Stuart is based! No surprise he’s got that big posh house, considering he’s always pulling scams on folks!
