They ring me pretty much every morning at the same time. I always let it go to voicemail, but never gotten any message from them. I guess it’s one of those automated systems ignoring the TPS register.

Got these dodgy calls about loft insulation every few days. I picked up once but now I just let it ring through to answerphone since they don’t bother leaving any message. I keep checking the number with 1471 and it always begins with 01202 137... The final three digits keep switching, so it looks like the same caller is messing about with different endings on the number.

If this number has been pestering you, you might want to check out some info that's out in the open about the person behind it: a Stuart David Wright, born 19/01/1965, living at 21a Plymouth Road, Bamt Green, Birmingham, B45 8JF. He seems to be the scammer linked to loads of these numbers people have flagged here. A lot have reported him to the cops but unfortunately, they don’t seem bothered since they say it’s not a priority. Fingers crossed someone else can give this scumbag a proper lesson, since the police won’t take action.

Just got a call from 01202-137527 around 2.15pm today. A guy named James claimed to be from some green energy company, asking about my loft insulation and tried to set up a free survey. I told him I wasn’t interested straight away. He then went on about how old insulation might lead to damp or mould issues. I firmly said ‘no thanks’ and ended the call. After checking other reviews, it’s clear this is dodgy - definitely don’t share any personal details with them!

Got loads of calls this morning from a bloke named Chris, said he was from some green eco thing in south east London. Sounded like one of those dodgy cold call scams about insulation or something. They kept ringing from different numbers, at least five I reckon. If you say yes to the first question, they hang up straight away if you try to say anything else. Tried blocking but no luck with all the different lines. Total nuisance.

Got a call from someone claiming to be an energy consultant nearby. Straight up felt like one of those dodgy cold calls trying to scam ya. Best to just block or ignore it.

So, I keep getting calls from this bloke Alex who’s always going on about solar energy with this annoying, overly keen tone. It’s like three or four calls every week, always from different 01202 numbers. Got a call from a number that had the same first 6 digits as mine, with just the last couple switched. Guy tried pushing some insulation deal on me, sounded a bit dodgy. Reckon it’s one of those scams where they make the number look familiar to catch you off guard. Didn’t fall for it, hung up straight away. The guy said his name was Tom and started telling me my insulation might be causing damp and condensation in my home. He kept pushing to set up a free survey, but I told him I wasn’t interested. Still, he went on about how I’d end up with damp problems. I ended up just hanging up on him. I’m on the telephone preference service, so I shouldn’t be getting calls like this. I think it’s the same place that rang before but from a different number, something like 01202137516.

Had a call from someone called Chris or Tom the other day, asking me to do a survey for Green Eco. Checked Trustpilot later and loads of folks reckon it’s a scam trying to trap you into filling out stuff. Be careful with those.

Yeah, I've dealt with this one too, complete bunch of scammers and pretty rude about it. Same bloke, Chris, has called me loads of times and every time I've told him to take me off their list, he just says I need to hear him out first, what a cheek! They totally ignore requests and honestly, they deserve to be banned.

Folks on the Isle of Wight are being warned by the local Trading Standards about a dodgy loft insulation scam going round. Loads of people have already reported getting calls from a Bournemouth number, with someone offering a free check to see if your loft insulation might be causing any damp. If you say yes to the inspection, they’ll arrange for someone to come out, and chances are they’ll claim there’s damage and push you into paying way too much to fix it. Definitely keep an eye out for this one!

These scammers use numbers that start the same but change the last digits slightly. They probably pick what looks like a Bournemouth number to make it seem more legit so people won’t hang up. I just don’t pick up if I spot one of these on my caller ID anymore.

Got a call today from a Bournemouth number, someone claiming to be Tom, asking loads of questions about loft installations. Was on the phone for ages waiting, then when I asked for his postcode, he just cut me off. This is the second time I’ve had one of these calls in just a couple of hours. Very fishy if you ask me!

I had a similar experience. Someone called me up out of the blue, saying they thought I might be interested in loft insulation. I don’t understand how they got my number since I’m ex-directory. The guy asked if he could confirm the spelling of my last name. I naively gave it to him, and then he said his supervisor or surveyor would ring me back within 15 mins to set up a free appointment. Quite suspicious really!

I got a call earlier from someone called ‘Tom’ about loft insulation. It definitely sounded like some clever recorded message that altered what it said depending on what I replied. I decided to throw in some random questions, like asking if it was a recording, why he needed me to spell my surname, and where exactly he was ringing from. The message shifted a few times and sometimes even repeated parts. In the end, ‘Tom’ claimed he was new to the role and said his manager would give me a ring back before hanging up.

REPORTED TO TPS - BELOW IS THE RESPONSE I RECEIVED I reached out to report a marketing call I got, despite being on the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) or Corporate TPS register. They assured me that every complaint they get is looked into. They try to get in touch with the company responsible to remind them about following the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 (PECR), which governs TPS. They also tell the company to put my number on their own ‘do not call’ list. They mentioned that sometimes, even if a company name or number is given, they can’t verify the company if the details turn out to be fake. Also, TPS doesn’t have the capability to trace or identify who made the call I received. However, my complaint will be part of their regular reports sent to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), which enforces PECR rules. All reports sent to TPS make it to the ICO’s investigations into unwanted calls, helping them focus on the worst offenders.
