Got a call from a lady claiming it was about a government grant. I told her straight up we didn't qualify and asked her to stop ringing. She kept going on saying I couldn’t know that until I’d completed their survey. I just repeated that we weren’t eligible and then she just ended the call without a goodbye. I've since blocked the number using BT Protect, and honestly, it’s made a noticeable difference - fewer calls coming through now.

I got three missed calls from this number yesterday, then they rang me twice today about some home improvement stuff, but they used my old address and my maiden name. After the first call, I reported them to the ICO. When they called the second time, I mentioned the report and they just ended the call.

Got a call from someone who clearly wasn’t local and asked for me by my full name. I told them it’s not right to keep calling people who don’t want to talk and that they need to take my number off their records. After that, I just blocked them.

Twice in the past couple of days I've had calls from this number. The initial call, the bloke actually knew my name, but when I asked who it was, he just dropped the call. The next time, nobody picked up, but I could hear voices chatting away in the background.

Picked up the phone and all I could hear was background noise - like a bunch of people talking and typing away. No one actually spoke to me. This is the third time in a couple of days I've gotten a call like this. From what I gather, it might be some insulation firm named Roofwise from Bournemouth. Had a look at their website - honestly, their product looks rubbish and overpriced, and could even cause more harm to your home than good.

I didn’t know who this number was, so I answered just to check on 1471 if it showed up. It did, so I quickly called 1572 straight after to add them to my BT personal blacklist and stop these pesky scammers from bothering me. You pay a small fee yearly for the BT blacklist, but when you break it down per call, it’s barely anything, definitely worth having. The TPS won’t block calls unless you know the number beforehand.

I got a call from a firm called Roofwise based in Bournemouth. They mentioned they'd got my phone number from some "renewable energy database", but I looked it up on Google and couldn’t spot any actual site listing my number. I’ve since reported them to the ICO.

When I asked where they got that from, they joked it was their 'crystal ball' that tells them everything. Honestly, their facts were way off. I tried to reason with them, even brought up the TPS and explained the rules about cold calls, but they just wouldn't back down. To be clear, our place has never had cavity insulation installed at all.

I received a rather peculiar call the other day from someone claiming there had been a recent change in legislation regarding loft insulation. They insisted that I needed to have mine surveyed, as apparently, it could lead to the rotting of my rafters. When I politely declined, the caller launched into a rather snarky tirade about how I was supposed to ascertain the state of my insulation without X-ray vision! His tone turned quite disrespectful, which led me to end the conversation. Being of a certain age, I sense he might have taken advantage of that. Today at about 12:08, this unknown number rang our home phone. We didn’t pick up since we didn’t recognise it. After about 6 or 7 rings, the call just stopped. Honestly, it’s a shame they have nothing better to occupy their time than making cold calls!
