So, someone called saying they were Mike from Carphone Warehouse. When I asked for his email, he gave me something like mike348 ###@ gmail [###]. About a year back, I got a similar call, and getting a bit wary, I asked for their email too. They put me on hold for a bit, then came back with sales@carsphonewarehouse [###], but the weird thing was the domain had only been registered a few months before. Seemed dodgy to me.

She claimed they were reaching out on behalf of my current phone service provider. I pointed out that they should already know which network I’m with, to which she responded that they collaborate with every provider. I told her I was occupied at the moment but would pop into my nearest Carphone Warehouse later in the week to chat about the offer in person. Her demeanour changed quite noticeably, as if my intention to visit a physical store displeased her, and she abruptly said farewell. I highly doubt this is genuinely Carphone Warehouse, and it leaves me quite curious about how they obtained my contact information.
