I said yes, but when he wanted to know the provider, I told him I wasn’t sure. He then asked if I really didn’t know or just didn’t want to say. I just hung up after that. This happened on 1st June around 2:53pm.

Totally a con, I’m from Scotland and they said they were from the Department of Health, which is an English thing. When I asked how they found my details, they just cut me off - classic way to stop you from asking questions because they know you’ve caught on! If it was legit, they’d probably explain.

This number rang our home phone (which we almost never use or share) and when my husband picked up with “Hello”, the caller, a bloke with an Asian accent, said “Good afternoon Mrs {my surname}, how are you today?” My husband (definitely doesn’t sound female!) replied “I’m not Mrs xxx, you’ve got the wrong person” and then the man just ended the call! somebody with a indian/pakistani/bangladeshi accent called me saying they were from the nhs and needed to do some checks. but the nhs never does that kind of verification over the phone. they said they wanted to confirm my covid vaccine status but all that info is already held centrally, no matter if you live in england, scotland, wales or northern ireland. it really seemed like a scam to steal personal, medical or bank details to charge money or drain accounts. dont share any info, just hang up and report it to the police or action fraud straight away.
