I recognised the number as being from my area, so I decided to pick up. What a letdown - it turned out to be yet another dodgy call concerning increases in energy costs. As soon as I mentioned I wasn’t interested, they hung up on me. Typical!

I got a call from a lady speaking with a foreign accent, asking for me by my first name. When I asked who she was, she said her name was Mary and claimed the call was about seeing if I qualified for a free government energy inspection. I told her it was an unsolicited call and not allowed, then ended the call straight away.

Got a call from a number I don't have saved anywhere. No idea who it was!

The person on the phone wanted to speak to my husband, calling him by name. I told them he wasn't here, then they asked if I owned the house. I said no, we’re renters (which I’ve found usually makes them drop the call). Sure enough, they just ended the call after that.

Utter rubbish, every single one! I don’t even bother picking up anymore unless I know who’s ringing. My phone’s always set to voicemail so I can weed out the rubbish calls without doing a thing. Honestly, they’re the lowest scum possible - even worse than pond scum if you ask me, ‘cos at least that stuff has some use.
