So my uncle who’s up in Inverness got a helpline provider with a phone number that seems to be from Reading, which was a bit confusing. They gave me a ring later from an Inverness number and that’s when I figured it out. Bit frustrating tho cos my uncle never mentioned I’m his emergency contact! And I’m almost 500 miles away. Totally legit though, no worries.

They ringed me to say they were aware someone was in a tricky spot and that support was being arranged for them, which was quite comforting.

This number rang me as I’m listed as an emergency contact for my mum who has disabilities. It was the firm looking after her fall alert, informing me she’d fallen and asking if I could come over straight away.

This number is linked to care services. Emergency calls might originate from anywhere across the UK but all go through a main line in Reading. So, if you've received a call from them, it's likely because you're marked as an ICE contact for someone in your family or someone you care for.

I didn’t pick up since our usual number starts with 0800, so I thought it was a bit unusual.

This morning, I've received four calls from this number but have chosen not to pick up since it appears to be a scam.

We got a call from this number around 3:51 in the morning and it woke us up. Honestly, I think it was just some annoying nuisance call. Really frustrating!

Had a right dodgy phone call. I reckon it's a scammer trying to pull a fast one!

I ignored the initial call because it showed up as a Reading area code, then they rang back and left a voicemail. Turns out it was from lifeline regarding me being a first responder for an older neighbour in need. It’d be much easier if they mentioned the calls come from some central number beforehand!

This phone number seems to be associated with Deanline, a call service run by the Somerset council aimed at assisting the elderly. It baffles me why they've chosen to use a Reading area code, considering that it’s meant for folks in Somerset!

I got a call from this number and it turned out to be Somerset Lifeline. They were checking in about a vulnerable person I’m listed as a contact for, so it’s a genuine call. They came through on 0118 358 3800, but if you want to get back to them, the best number to ring is 01823 772331.

I received a rather dodgy phone call earlier. The caller mentioned a name and inquired if it belonged to me before abruptly ending the call. Quite odd, if you ask me!
