A woman with a strong foreign accent called me. The number showed Reading, England, which matches Yell’s contact details. But she was really brusque, just saying “I’m from Yell, I’m calling to update your business listing.” I asked her what info she had on my business and she just repeated what is already publicly available. That made me suspicious. I then asked, “how do I know you’re really from Yell and not a scammer?” She told me to ring back on 0800 533 433. Just a heads up, be careful.

I didnt pick up and there was no voicemail left. After reading what others have said, my guess is this is a scammy call. Id seriously advise not sharing any personal info over the phone. From what ive seen, Yell uses numbers starting with 028 from Northern Ireland.

Yep, it’s definitely Yell. This very pushy lady with a foreign accent kept prying for company details that honestly aren’t any of their damn business. I don’t mind using their free listing but that’s as far as I’ll go. These days, most of my business stuff gets done through Facebook locally anyway.

Had to shout at them one more time! They just don’t give up, no matter how many times you say no.
