Got a call from someone claiming I needed to renew my washing machine insurance for £60 a year, saying it had to be done straight away. They mentioned a policy started on 21 March 2019 and lasting 3 years, which was up for renewal. Thing is, I’ve never had any washing machine insurance at all! The person said they were from RS Insurance, but that company’s genuine and uses a totally different phone number prefix. Seems dodgy to me.

Got a call around 6.54pm, some bloke claiming to be from Residence Green Standard Centre. He was going on about mould in my loft from insulation and said I had to replace it. I told him my loft’s fine, no problems at all. Then he kept trying to push for a 30-minute survey. I said if he wasn’t paying me, it wasn’t happening. Ended up giving me some supposed ‘discount code’ - 40+9746 or something. Complete nonsense if you ask me!

Got a call from 0118 3389920, some bloke named "Alex" said he was from the Green Guideline Centre, supposedly connected to the government. He rattled on super fast, wouldn't let me get a word in, kept cutting off any questions I tried to ask. Said I lived in some ‘special area’ that qualified for grants or something. When I asked him to name the place, or where exactly he said I lived, he just hung up. Total scam, stay well clear.

Got a random call from an Asian guy asking for my bank info - sounded dodgy from the start.
