Got calls from someone saying they were Sarah Wilson about six times. The way they spoke and what they said was pretty creepy, almost made me wanna ring back. Don’t bother. Just ignore it. If HMRC needs to reach you, they’ll send a letter. They only phone you if you’ve already got some business with them and have been in touch first.

Got a call on my mobile way too early, like 5 in the morning. Didn’t pick up, but saw they left a voicemail. Absolutely furious to be disturbed that early by a scam. The message claimed to be from HMRC, spoken by a woman with an American accent - sounded like some automatic voice. I’m definitely contacting HMRC about this. Everyone should really report these too.

I received a voice message claiming to be from an "Officer Sarah Wilson" at HMRC, urgently instructing me to return the call to discuss "The Full Impact of the Law." It was so clearly a scam, but I can't help thinking about how alarming the tone could be for someone elderly or vulnerable. Just got a call from someone called Eric Williams today. They said if I didn’t cough up £3,228, they’d take my kids off me. Claiming my case was going to court the next day. I’m a single mum and that money isn’t even close to something I can afford. Looked the number up and stumbled on this site - total scam, horrible people.

Got a call claiming to be from HMRC, saying I was under arrest or something - total nonsense. They were really pushy and scary on the phone. Just like what some others mentioned, they even said they were from Romford Police station. Watch out what you tell them and don’t be afraid to just cut the call off. It’s definitely a scam!

I got a call too from this bloke called Eric Williams, really cheeky and unprofessional. He rang me up at work, which was quite annoying. His reference number was something like HNRC39 01183287139. Proper rude the way he spoke.

BEWARE: Got a call from someone claiming to be Eric Williams from HMRC saying there was a warrant out for me and asking if I had legal representation. His English was really off, so I asked to speak to his manager. Then a different man, also Indian, got on the line - he said his name was Kevin. The number 01183287139 is definitely dodgy. They claimed I owed nearly £4000 and threatened I'd be court-bound within two days. Definitely report this if you get a call like this.

Got a call on 13th July 2018 from someone claiming to be Sarah Wilson with US Customs. They left a voicemail saying I had to have my lawyer call them back quickly because it was urgent. They warned about serious legal trouble if I didn’t respond in the set timeframe.

I got a call from some bloke who sounded like he had an Indian accent. He claimed HMRC had put a court case against me and asked if I had a lawyer. I told him yes, then he said the hearing was on Monday at 4 in the afternoon. I just said thanks and ended the call. Obviously, it was nonsense since he called me Dan, which isn’t even my name.

We ended up having a pretty heated argument, and just before they hung up, they said they'd 'find me'. Seriously, what the hell?!

Got a call from 0118 328 7139, with someone saying they were from HMRC saying I owed taxes. The number shows it’s from Reading. When I asked them to prove who they were by telling me my UTR, they got really rude and snapped, “Why would I tell you that?” I told them it’s illegal to get my details like that and to stop calling me. They shot back, “I’ll call you again and again. Bye, motherf***er.” So yeah, if you’re unsure, look this number up and report it. Don’t hand over any info!

Got a call from someone pretending to be from HMRC claiming I was facing court over some money I supposedly owed - £3200!
