Nobody said a word when I answered, felt a bit dodgy like a scam call.

if more folks stopped giving attention to cold calls, they’d probably disappear quick enough. the truth is, some people still fall for them, so they keep at it. i myself never answer, and if a business keeps ringing me out of the blue or sends me junk mail, i make a point of never using them - done that quite a few times already.
