The individual on the line had a distinctly non-native accent, likely of Asian descent. To my surprise, he knew my complete name and was quite insistent on having me verify my address. He claimed to be representing Home Benefits and mentioned he had a few queries he needed to discuss with me.

Got a ring from this number, they wanted me to verify my address details. I flat out refused and ended the call. They barely got to ask three questions before I cut them off. Seems like one of those phishing attempts to me.

Received a call from a guy with an Asian accent, who strangely already knew my name and where I live. He claimed to be from "HOME BENEFITS" and wanted to ask a couple of quick questions. When I asked how they had got my number, he rambled about not breaking any data rules and begged me not to end the call. In the end, I just told him goodbye and blocked the number.

They wanted me to stay on the line for about half a minute, saying they weren’t trying to sell anything. I just hung up and blocked the number straight away.

They told me it wasn't a sales call, said they were from UK Choice and wanted to talk about my data. There was loads of noise in the background though, which I pointed out after asking why they were ringing and how they'd got hold of my info. Then they just cut me off.
