Got a call from this number 01173 259619. It was some scammer, a woman with a strong foreign accent, really hard to understand her. She kept asking to speak to Will Long, who’s nobody I know. When I told her there’s no one with that name here, she snapped back asking where exactly I was calling from. Then she started raising her voice, demanding to know how long I had this number! I told her to stop calling since it’s private, then hung up the call.

Got a message earlier from 01174721618 claiming to be Norton, saying my subscription was paid. They told me to contact them if it wasn’t me because my account might be at risk. Pretty sure it’s a scam, so watch out!

At first I got a robo call, then some bloke with an Indian accent rang me up saying I’d won £10,000 on their lottery. He started asking for my bank info but as soon as I said I knew it was bogus, he just went quiet and slammed the phone down. What a laugh! 😀

Got a call from someone saying they were with Volex Banking in Bristol, but that’s not even a bank - Volex PLC isn’t involved in banking at all. I actually use one of the major banks myself, so it felt suspicious.

Got a voicemail from 01173259431, sounded like an English bloke at first but then switched to this thick Scottish accent, couldn’t even catch the full name properly. Tried looking it up and seems to be some issue with my line. This was around 5pm or so.

I received a rather concerning call claiming there were attempts to process payments from my Halifax bank account. It’s clearly a scam. Whatever you do, don’t press any buttons to confirm anything. They've contacted me on both my mobile and home phone. It feels like they’re ringing me nearly every couple of days. I've tried blocking their numbers, yet they seem to always come back with a different one. It’s quite frustrating!

This number has called me twice in just a couple of days. It shows up as NTT Training from Bristol but when I tried to visit their website, it wasn’t secure so I checked the reviews instead. Most of them, from both current and former workers, were pretty negative. Feels a lot like a dodgy cold call trying to fleece you out of cash.

29 Sep 23 Got a call from 01173 132076 today. It was one of those recorded messages saying something like, "Your Mastercard has been charged £500 for Amazon and eBay. Press 1 to cancel the transaction." Totally obvious con trying to trick people.

Got a call from 0117 325 8904, sounded like an Asian guy with a strong accent. The line was super crackly and noisy.

I get calls all the time from some "debt relief department" or something like that. The last time, the person started talking but I just left the phone beside me and ignored it. Honestly, I get nearly 15 of these annoying calls daily, from loads of firms on different numbers. I try blocking them but they keep coming back, usually with just one number changed! It's so frustrating!

I finally answered but couldn’t understand the accent, and when I asked who it was, there was just silence and nonstop noise. After that, I just ignored the rest. Got a call from a woman with a thick Chinese accent claiming to be from Sky's tech support. She said there were problems with my Sky connection and kept grilling me about all the devices I had plugged in. Then she told me to switch off all my stuff. When I asked for proof she was really from Sky, she passed me over to some 'Senior Technician'. That’s when I got the feeling something wasn’t right and hung up. Later I checked my router logs and found nothing wrong at all. They rang me back again a bit later but I didn’t pick up.
