Got a call from what looked like a Bristol number, but it was a dodgy phishing scam pretending to be Nationwide (just so you know, Nationwide's actually in Swindon). As soon as I called them out for being scammers, they started getting proper rude.

I got a message saying 'Nationwide: There’s a payment of £899.99 to Alpha Developments Ltd being checked. If it wasn’t you, ring 01172541199.' Totally a scam trying to look like Nationwide. Watch out!

Got a call a couple of times from someone asking for my mum. I said it was her daughter on the line and next thing, they just hung up. Seems like a bit of a scam to me.

Just got a call on my home phone from someone asking to check out my rooftop!? I’m based in the Rhondda, so this definitely felt like a scam call. They sounded proper daft, but even daft folk can be risky!

Got a call around 11.15 in the morning, all quiet at first then he called me by my name and mentioned something about records showing fibreglass loft insulation. I told him I’d done the insulation myself using a kit from B&Q. He then said it might actually be rockwool, said sorry and that he’d remove me from their records. The call seemed to come from Bristol, but I live in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. Feels like a dodgy phishing attempt or cold call pretending to be some council official.

Got a call on 12th Sept 2020 from 01172541199, they said their report indicated we got fibreglass insulation in the loft. Thing is, we dont have any. The house was up for sale not too long ago, so I reckon they’re cold calling and somehow found this info. They even mentioned the previous owner by name - but that person left 23 years ago! Definitely felt like a scam.

Around 5 in the evening on the 30th of November 2020, I got a call from this number. As soon as I picked up the phone, the person on the other end just hung up.

Totally a dodgy call trying to phish info. They claimed to be from some energy saving program and said they had our loft listed as having fibreglass insulation. I asked who exactly they worked for, like Glos County Council or something. On their second try, they stumbled reading from a script and when I straight up asked which organisation they were with, they went silent. Felt really off, like a classic scam call. No surprise, they never rang back, so that pretty much sealed it for me - definitely a scammer.

Got a call from a bloke asking for my mum. When I told him she wasn’t available and I couldn’t chat, he just slammed the phone down. I asked him who he was afterwards, but he didn’t say. Strange!
