I kept getting calls from this number, they claimed I needed to upgrade my phone even though it wasn’t time yet. Then they said there was a problem with my tech support and wanted my account password. I wasn’t about to give that out, so I just hung up.

Honestly, only someone daft would ring back a number they don’t recognise. It’s a proper silly move. Seems like it could be some kind of modern twist on the old wangiri scam. Plus, since scammers blast out millions of fake numbers, sometimes you might actually call a perfectly innocent person by mistake and cause them hassle. Also, your number might get flagged on ‘7726’, which is something you definitely don’t want. And there’s always the risk the call back links you to an actual criminal. Not worth the risk at all!
