Got a call from this number but didn’t pick up. Tried calling it back with 1471 and the message said "NUMBER IS NOT ACTIVE AT THE MOMENT".

This number spammed me too, something like 01163040636 but the last digit was different. They claimed to be from UK benefits. The 637 number called me four times on Friday, and today they said something about my laptop and Windows. Total nuisance!

My call blocker picked up about 10 calls from this and a very similar number in just one day. From reading the comments, it seems pretty clear it’s a scam. I’d recommend everyone uses a phone with a built-in call blocker and caller ID (BT or whatever provider), simple to set up, and it saves you the hassle of dealing with these annoying calls.

@plusnet customer, plusnet actually offers call protect (1572), so right after you get a call, just dial 1572 and you can block the number that just called you.

Got a call early in the morning, around 6:30 and then again at 7:30, from someone claiming there’s an issue with my computer. Total scam, ringing that early and so often. How do they expect anyone to answer positively at that time? Clearly just blasting numbers to try and catch someone out quick and disappear with cash. Reporting them feels pointless since they’re probably abroad and always on the move. Authorities could trace these calls, but no signs they actually bother to.

I've just had a dodgy call that I think might be a scam. A chap with a foreign twang-claimed his name was Peter Thompson or some such-rang me up, pretending to be from BT. He warned me that my internet connection was about to go down due to some nasty data lurking about. I couldn't help but chuckle since both my router and computer were turned off at the time! Then he started probing me about my credit card payments. It didn't sit right with me, so I promptly hung up.

Today, I got called about half a dozen times with no one speaking, then on the seventh try, this guy with an Asian accent said he was from the TPS and even read out my full name and address. I told him I’d report them and he just ended the call. I’ve already done a report with TPS about it.

This number kept ringing me up loads of times. Claimed there were issues with my Internet and said it was about to be cut off. Told me I should call BT to sort it out. A guy with an Asian accent got a bit stroppy, saying he had to get into my Internet to fix it. I told him I’m not daft and he can jog on. Clearly, there was no real problem with my Internet being disconnected.

01163040637 from Leicester keep ringing me early morning around 6.45 to 7 am. I always answer cos I'm worried something's wrong with family. These calls are so upsetting. Sometimes it's dead quiet, other times a person with an Asian accent says there's a problem with my computer. I've reported them to Ofcom - just google nuisance call report and their site is easy to find. Takes just a few mins online or you can ring 03001233 000. Really hope they catch these pesky callers soon and make them pay for the stress.

Got a call today at 11am on 7.2.18 about supposed nuisance calls and they wanted info from my cheque book. I said no and hung up, but the guy rang me back straight away. I hung up again and he phoned a third time. I searched the number online and found loads of people complaining about it. I told him to send me the details through the post as he already knows my name, address and postcode, then hung up the third time.

Got a call at 5:50 in the morning. I answered since ive got an elderly mum who isnt well. No one said anything so i ended the call and checked 1471. Recognised the number, not the first time either. Got woken up by someone telling me there was a serious issue with my Windows laptop. Told the bloke he had just disturbed me, but he kept going on about how urgent it was. This number called us 8 times yesterday, and today a similar one, just two digits different at the end, 32 instead of 37, ringing from what’s obviously the same firm. I’ve already reported them to Ofcom and really think everyone should fill in an online complaint form for any scammy companies. If enough of us do it, they’ll eventually get shut down.

I received a call from a chap who had quite a strong Indian accent-he promptly addressed me by my surname, claiming it was regarding my call preferences. Clearly, it was a unsolicited sales pitch. I ended up hanging up on him; what a botheration that was! Such a nuisance!

Got a call from an Asian guy called "Alex" about the Telephone Preference Service. He asked if I was getting any nuisance calls, and I said "Yes, this one included." He then tried to verify my address and phone number, and wanted to check if my Direct Debit card had an expiry date from 2018. I didn't answer that part. After that, he went on a long spiel about how giving the expiry date wouldn’t let them take money from my account. Whenever I tried to speak, he just talked over me. Alex was stuck on his script and couldn’t veer off it at all.

He asked me to confirm my name, address and how I usually pay for my phone bill. Then he asked me to give him my card expiry date. So this bloke said he was from some telephone preference thing, asking if I get loads of annoying marketing calls and said they could stop em by using a blacklist with over a million numbers. When I asked where they were, he said west London but the number started with 0116, which I know is Leicester. Told him I’d just block his number and he goes “we’ll see about that.” Well, I just did!
