some guy called jim, with a pretty poor grasp of english, got on the phone saying he was from carphone warehouse. i told him i’m on the tps list, but he just chuckled and went “yeah, whatever”. i then asked where he got my number from and after that, the line just went dead silent apart from him breathing, so i ended up hanging up.

The caller said they were from some place that sounded like Currys, but it might have been Carphone Warehouse or something similar. They told me it was a promo call to check if I was being charged too much for my phone. They asked about what kind of phone I’ve got, but honestly, I couldn’t really make out much and it felt like a dodgy, rehearsed scam. They also mentioned being from London, even though I never asked where they were calling from. So yeah, I’d bet they’re definitely not actually in London. I just ended the call.
