Just got a call from 01159810658, said they were from BT Openreach or something. They started going on about speeding up my broadband and some router stuff. Then they asked me to switch on my computer so they could guide me through some steps. Felt a bit dodgy to be honest.

I've been getting calls from this number a couple of times every day. The area code seems to be from Nottingham, but since I don't know anyone there, I just let it ring and didn’t pick up. They never bother to leave a voicemail or anything.

I tried messing around with the "event viewer" on my Windows laptop, not really sure what I was after but it seemed a bit dodgy when I used Win+R and typed eventvwr. It’s meant to show stuff like error logs, custom views, and app/service/subscriptions under window logs. Anyway, I ended up saying the wrong things and he accused me of just wasting his time. He was pretty desperate to get my mobile number so I’d stay put in front of the screen. Honestly felt sketchy - like he wasn’t bothered about my time and probably wanted to mess with my security.

Thing is, I ended up giving incorrect replies and the person on the other end accused me of just messing about. All the while, they were desperate to get my mobile number, probably so they could keep me hanging on the line. It felt like they were ready to waste my time and maybe even put my security at risk.
