I’ve seen all the comments here and I feel the same. I told Eon if they installed a smart meter but left it on dumb mode, I’d be fine. They said they can’t do that, so they’re refusing to fit one even though my current meter is really old. MSE reckons it’s possible to have it set to dumb mode. Supposedly, Eon should have marked this down as a no, but like loads of others, I just keep getting the annoying calls and texts nonstop.

First Source is a legit outfit that handles customer service for EON and a few other firms. So if they ring, it’s a real call. I’ve also been told my meter’s out of date and needs swapping. Thing is, I blocked their number back in July and they keep ringing anyway. So, this Prob Eon keep sending me emails, texts, and calls saying my meter’s knackered and needs replacing. If your call blocker lets you, it’s worth adding 011 to the blocked area code list. It looks like it might be something to do with an Eon smart meter, but the number isn’t on their official contact page anywhere. I've noticed that numbers starting with 011, 012, 013, 014, 015, 016, 0177, 018, 019, 020, 028, 074, 075, 077, 078, and 079 are often linked to scams or spam calls.
