Got a text claiming my d/debit was linked to BT broadband, so I checked my bank app and there was nothing at all, realised straight away it was a scam. Number was 0115 706 0007.

Got a text supposedly from my bank about a direct debit to BT being set up, asking me to confirm if it wasn’t me. Instead of ringing my bank straight away, I replied to the message thinking it was legit. The questions they asked made me really suspicious so I cut the convo short. Then I looked up the number along with an 0117 code that appeared. Also found a mobile number 07938 326 416 linked to it. Definitely a scam, no doubt.

I received a phone call from a lady with an Asian accent who claimed to be with 'Car Phone Warehouse.' She reached out to me yesterday, but I was in a bit of a bind and couldn’t chat at that moment. I then set up a request for her to ring me back later on in the day. However, when she tried again, I was still unable to answer, and that led to a barrage of calls-eight in total-each from different numbers with varied origins such as Cardigan, Aldershot, and Glengawrie, among others. This morning, she contacted me once more, and lo and behold, the same situation unfolded. Upon eventually managing to have a word with her, she reiterated that she was representing Car Phone Warehouse located in Wembley.

I had a rather unsettling encounter with someone named 'Kevin' from Carphone Warehouse, no less. He referred to me as 'My dear,' which instantly felt off, and proceeded to mention he was on the lookout for a young woman, allegedly around 18 years of age. When I took him to task about his rather questionable tone, he shockingly escalated the situation, exclaiming, "I'll do away with you and your whole family!” before promptly disconnecting the call. Quite extraordinary, really!

I received a call claiming that I could upgrade my contract to a more favourable deal, but they insisted I needed to cough up £42 first. It feels like a right con, to be honest. Total scam!

I’ve set my phone up so that I only pick up calls from a handful of chosen contacts, and each one of them has their own distinct ringtone. For everyone else who rings in, I’ve opted for the Spam song by Monty Python-can’t beat that cheeky Spam Spam Spam Spam jingle to let me know it’s not worth my time!

I received a call today purporting to be from O2, where they informed me that as a valued customer, I was eligible for a whopping 40% off my mobile bill for the upcoming year. However, I found it a bit fishy and promptly reported it to O2, suspecting it might be a scam or some sort of fraudulent activity.

Honestly, it’s quite straightforward. If a number pops up that you don’t recognise, simply don’t pick up the call. What I usually do is check it out on this site first. If it turns out to be a scam or junk call, just add it to your block list. If it rings a bell and seems legitimate, then feel free to return the call. More often than not, it’s some sort of marketing nonsense or an uninvited caller.

Received a call purporting to be from my mobile carrier, promising a whopping 40% reduction on my contract after inquiring if I was satisfied with their service. I started to feel a bit dubious, so I politely declined the offer, at which point they abruptly ended the call. Definitely a scam!

I received a rather absurd call from someone claiming to be offering iPhone 13s for a mere £30. At first, they seemed to find it all rather amusing. I pointed out to them that soliciting calls like theirs was against the law, as my number is on the TPS register. Undeterred, they just kept chattering away, so I ultimately told them to shove off!
