Got a call from someone claiming to be Domestic & General about washing machine insurance. I’ve never had any insurance for my machine, actually bought it back in '93. What’s worse, it showed up as a local number, so I almost picked up thinking it was a mate. These calls are super irritating.

The individual began to request personal information and then mentioned transferring me to an adviser. When I inquired about the reason for the transfer, he was rather vague. I decided to end the conversation there. Soon after, they attempted to ring me back, but I opted to disregard the call.

Got a call from a guy with a foreign accent saying I was owed a refund for some bank fees. Before he could say more, I heard a bloke yelling in the background and knew straight away it was a scam. Didn’t even bother listening and blocked the number instantly.

That’s when he started yelling at me, saying if I didn’t confirm my date of birth, I wouldn’t get the cheque. I told him to shove it and that he should be ashamed of himself for trying to scam vulnerable, older folks like me.

I got a call from a bloke saying his name was Tony Wayne, claiming that my bank fees over the past 20 years were going to be refunded. He gave me some sort of cheque reference number and mentioned someone would ring me back in a couple of hours with more details. He asked for my date of birth too. I soon worked out it was a scam and fed him rubbish info. I'm curious to see what they try next. It's weird how these scammers always choose English names nowadays!

i'm from kent and got a call from a bloke who said his name was michael mathew and that he worked for claims advisory group. he mentioned i'd be getting a cheque from a government fund and gave me some kind of reference number. he said someone would ring me back to tell me how much. but when he tried to get my bank details, i just hung up.
