Since the number didn’t match anything in my contacts, it felt a bit dodgy.

Got a call from some place sounding like "Pash" or "Patch" mobile services, trying to pitch cheaper mobile plans. When I asked more since I'd never come across them before, the bloke just kept saying the company's name. I then asked if it was a sales call and they just cut me off. I'm on the TPS list, so I'll be reporting this lot.
