Got a call today from someone claiming to be Virgin Media. Said my internet had been compromised by hackers. I told him I don’t even use a laptop, but he said it wasn’t my device, it was the internet itself that was at risk. Then he insisted it would be cut off for 10 days while they sorted it out. He said he could guide me through fixing it over the phone if I wanted. I told him to go ahead and disconnect my internet and that I’d expect compensation for being offline for that long. Then he just hung up on me. Classic!

I received a call from this number at a rather unsociable hour, around 8.45 in the morning, on the 10th of November 2017. It jolted me awake from my slumber!

Got a call in the early afternoon from someone with a strong foreign accent, maybe Indian. They told me my internet would be cut off in the next day. When I asked the reason, they said it was "cause of the hackers." I asked who they were, and they said they worked for BT. I thanked them for the warning, then told them I’m not actually with BT before I ended the call.

I tend to ignore any incoming calls from numbers I'm unfamiliar with. Instead, I prefer to do a quick Google search first. Even if it's a genuine call, it’s likely some kind of market research or something that doesn't pique my interest at all.

Today, I got a call warning me that my internet would be shut off in ten days due to some "hackers". I didn’t waste any time and just ended the call straight away. (011479325)

Got a call saying my internet was going to be disconnected in half an hour. I asked the guy for his name and where he was calling from. He didn't seem to like that at all. Then I told him "Mr John from London, I reckon you’re trying to scam me," and he hung up straight away. Watch out folks, these lot are dodgy.

Got a call from someone claiming my internet had been hacked and would be disconnected within 24 hours. I wasn’t fazed at all, even told them that was actually good news, then they just hung up. I’ve blocked the number now.

I picked up the phone, but there was complete silence on the other end. This same number tried to reach me a few days back, but I missed the call as I wasn’t quick enough to grab it. Strangely, the caller ID didn’t reveal anything, so I rang 1471 to trace the number after the fact.

First, I got a call from a French lady looking for someone who doesn't even live here. Then, out of nowhere, this bloke with an Indian accent rings up, saying he's with BT and wants to talk to the same person. When I told him no one by that name lives here, he went on and asked who he was talking to, which felt a bit dodgy, to be honest. I told him I’m the one who wants this private number wiped from their records. Then, bang! The phone was slammed down! Pretty obvious it was a scam trying to fish for info.

I hardly ever pick up my phone anymore - tons of scam calls. Got a ring and used 1471 to check the last caller number. After seeing what others said here, I blocked the number using 14258. Those annoying nuisances won’t bother me again - sorted. Honestly, 14258 is a handy code to remember for blocking unwanted callers.

Got a call from someone claiming to be TalkTalk, but it was just another scammer from India. I ended the call straight away. Tried to block the number with TPS but it didn't work. Maybe I didn’t enter the code right? The number was something like 14258##.
