I rang the number back and ended up speaking to this bloke with a strong Indian accent but a really English sounding name. I kept asking loads of questions like their postcode, the names of their managers, where exactly their office was supposed to be, and why they were using a Sheffield area code if they weren’t local. After a bit of me acting daft, they got annoyed and just snapped the phone down on me.

Just got one of those robotic calls with an American accent saying it was customs and excise, telling me to contact my solicitor right away or else there'd be trouble. As a retired office worker, I'm pretty sure it's a scam. It's really just intimidation, so definitely don't bother calling them back.

They’re definitely scammers ringing from abroad. I got three calls claiming to be HMRC Revenue, threatening me with some solicitor nonsense. When I tried to block and report the number, the app showed a completely different one than the caller ID. When I phoned back, the bloke on the line was all awkward and fumbling, not able to explain why they called. Don’t hand over any information, seriously. I’m glad I didn’t share my NI Number because these lot want to use it to get money from your job.

Got a voicemail from someone called ‘Dennis Gray’ saying he’s from HMRC and that I have to ring back or there’ll be legal trouble. Sounds like a total scam to me. I reckon once I mention it to my husband, he’s gonna love wasting their time, chatting with them for ages and then having a go at them for being so dodgy.

Had a missed call earlier and found a voicemail from some robotic voice claiming to be from HM Revenue & Customs. It was this “officer Dennis Gray” threatening legal trouble if I didn’t ring back. Don’t fall for it, definitely a scam! Avoid calling them back at all costs!

Got a text from what said it was Customs and Excise telling me to get in touch with my lawyer. They warned me not to ignore the message. They also added that if neither me nor my solicitor ring back on 01147001595, they wouldn’t be responsible for what happens next. Feels a bit fishy to me.
