I let the call drop straight to voicemail and got this robotic voice with a US accent pretending to be an “Officer” from HMRC. Pretty sure the real HMRC staff don’t call themselves officers. There were a couple of calls from HMRC today but both times it was just a recorded message, no real person. They didn’t ask for any personal info, just told me to ring them back. Sounds like one of those tricks where they might be trying to scam you, or maybe just trying to get you to call a premium rate number. I ended up blocking the number just in case.
