Some bloke rang up saying he was from HMRC, telling my missus she supposedly had over four grand in tax fraud debt. I recently received an automated call from a rather robotic voice, purportedly from HM Revenue & Customs. They claimed to be a certain Officer Dennis Grey and went on to provide an extensive reference number. Apparently, if I failed to return their call or if my legal advisor didn’t reach out, I could be facing some sort of legal consequences. Given that I’m a pensioner, at the age of 70 and not liable for taxes any longer, it’s safe to say that I believe this is nothing more than a scam.
