I got this recorded call saying it was from HMRC, telling me or my solicitor to get back to them straight away or there’d be some legal trouble. I rang the number back using another phone and ended up speaking to someone with an Indian or Pakistani accent in a pretty loud call centre. He said he was from HMRC's London head office, something about the tax fraud department. The guy gave the name Shane McGowan and asked for my name, but I just hung up. Definitely fakes pretending to be HMRC, but kind of weird they used a standard local number.
