I’m pretty sure this is legit, it’s from plusnet. I got a call from them earlier and was a bit wary since they asked for my username and two letters from my password. Got a call saying ’this call’s being recorded’ and gave his name, claimed he was from Plusnet. He wanted to chat about my services and asked if I’d take part in a survey ’cos he works for some place called Views or something. I didnt pick up but somehow ended up signing up for a new internet plan a few weeks back, never gave out my phone number tho yet the call still came through to my moby. Seems really fishy to me.

I got a call from someone saying they were from Plusnet as my contract was ending, but they wanted my username over the phone which felt off so I didn’t give it. Later, they emailed me to prove they were legit which seemed quite sketchy. If you google it, you’ll see a lot of warnings. I wouldn’t reply to anyone asking like that. It’s hard to tell if it’s actually Plusnet. I switched to a different broadband provider in the end anyway.

About 20 mins after I looked up a broadband quote on the PlusNet site, I got a call from this number. The only info I gave was my landline and postcode. I’m gonna block this number now, but if I decide to go with PlusNet, I’ll call them first. To be fair though, their website did mention they'd get in touch if you didn’t finish buying.

Got a ring from this number yesterday evening - I usually don’t pick up if I don’t know who it's from. Checked it out on here and deleted it from my recent calls this morning. It’s easy to see why folks reckon it’s PlusNet since I signed up with them just a few weeks ago and it shows a Sheffield code, which seems dodgy. Still, I’m not totally sure it’s actually PlusNet???

Got a ring from this number today. Was checking out SIM-only plans for me daughter, started filling in the forms but didn’t finish or pay for anything. I noticed on an earlier page where you put your name and phone number (mine’s with a different provider, never had anything with PlusNet before so they can't have my info saved) it seems that info is being saved straight into their system. Isn't that kinda illegal or against some data protection rules?

Got a call from this number earlier and my phone flagged it as maybe a scam, so I was a bit wary. A bloke with a British accent said the call was recorded for training and mentioned he was from Plusnet. He knew my name and said I'd recently got broadband with them. Asked how I was getting on with the 'setup'. I double-checked with Plusnet’s support on Twitter who said no one’s contacted my account today and they hadn’t made any calls. I’ve told them this might mean there’s been a data breach they should check out.

Just yesterday, Sky decided to hike their broadband fees, so I took it upon myself to compare prices with Plusnet online. Ever since, I've been receiving calls from this number, but when I answer, it's nothing but silence on the other end. It's quite peculiar, as I'm certain that no one else has my contact details. The only logical conclusion I can draw is that Plusnet either has a rogue employee or has endured some sort of security breach. It's a rather unsettling situation, to say the least.

They ring multiple times each day but never bother to leave a voicemail. Last time my wife picked up, the caller actually knew her name and was asking about washing machine insurance, with a strong foreign accent. We only switched to Plusnet about 16 days ago, and already we've had nearly two weeks of these scam calls, despite being ex-directory. Given all the complaints from other Plusnet users about this number, you'd think they could do something to stop it by now.

Also mentioned calls get recorded for training, but honestly, they need better training, cause this seemed pretty clumsy. They couldn’t explain how the scammers got my mobile number since only Plusnet and a few family members have it. I told Plusnet I was planning to report it to Police Scotland, and then they admitted it was definitely a scam. After that, the Plusnet rep said their management team would look into it so I didn’t need to contact the police.

In my experience, it turned out to be Plusnet's customer support giving me a call to confirm details about my latest contract. They basically just wanted to know if I was satisfied with the service I'd signed up for, nothing much beyond that.

I usually dont pick up calls from numbers I dont know, but I thought I better check with Plusnet just to be sure I wasnt blocking one of their real lines. They told me straight up that this is a FRAUDULENT COMPANY - NOT PLUSNET at all.

Was considerin switching to Plusnet but got a load of calls from them, no messages left though, so glad I didnt bother in the end. Good to be warned about how they do their marketing. Ive blocked their number now and gone with a more reliable broadband company. Bit of a pity, I did like their TV ads.

This number has been ringing me daily all week on my phone but I’ve just ignored it, only just checked it out on here. I’m with Plusnet but haven’t visited their website in ages. Honestly, whether it’s from Plusnet or some con artist, I don’t pick up on unfamiliar numbers. If it’s legit Plusnet, they can just drop me an email instead lol.

I missed a call from a mobile number and when I looked it up here it said it was Plusnet. Funny enough, I was on their site this morning trying to get a new sim deal and had to put in my phone number and some other info. The deal never finished because of constant glitches on their site but now it looks like some third party has got hold of my details. Really unsettling stuff.

I had a couple of calls today, and both times as soon as I answered, the line went silent. I strongly advise against returning the call, as they might hit you with charges of up to 22p a minute just to enjoy some rather unremarkable hold music!

We just signed up with plusnet and got a call from this number on our home phones. We didn’t pick up, but they just left some weird noises on the voicemail and then hung up. Feels like they’re still finding ways to mess with plusnet accounts even for new customers like us. Fingers crossed they manage to block them soon.

So, I'm with Plusnet and just got one of their mobile SIMs added to my plan. They didn't leave a voicemail or anything, but I reckon it's probably connected to Plusnet Mobile. I’m not gonna block the number straight away, I’ll wait and see how often they ring and if they say anything rude. No trouble so far, just a bit irritating when they don’t bother to leave a message.

Its Plusnet mobile call centre ringing me non stop all day, claiming they’re calling for Plusnet cause I use their broadband and asking if I want to switch to their sim only deal at £6 a month. They’ve been at it for about 2 weeks now, even told me not to contact their sales team to sign up. Beginning to seem a bit sketchy to me.

Got a call from this number again yesterday. My missus picked up and the person wanted to chat to her by name. She said it wasn’t a good time and ended the call. I phoned plusnet and the support chap said he thought the number was from their Sheffield office. He double-checked with his manager and found out it wasn’t one of their lines. Then he set up call forwarding on my account, said it’s free and takes about a day to start working.

Got a call at 11pm tonight, probably Plusnet trying to push a SIM on me. They rang earlier saying I might be able to lower my bill, but when I said I wasn’t interested in Plusnet mobile, they said no deals for me. What a joke, they woke the whole house up. 0114 307 3836 rang me claiming to be from PlusNet. They had called a few weeks back but I asked them to ring later since I was busy cooking. They wanted my PlusNet username but I wouldn’t give it, saying they called me first. Then they said it was a legal obligation to provide it. When I said I wasn’t convinced they were really PlusNet, they said they’d email me to prove it and call again afterwards. Never got any email and I’m not picking up this number again!

Today, I received a phone call from this number. The caller claimed to be representing Plusnet and was eager to make sure I was on the best broadband deal available. He then launched into a series of 'security questions' under the guise of 'data protection.' When he rattled off my address, I began to feel uneasy, especially when he requested my username and the initial two digits of my password. Fortunately, I couldn't recall either, but the moment he probed for a snippet of my password, it clicked that I was dealing with a scam artist. Some online discussions suggest it was just marketing, but I doubt legitimate marketing firms would ever ask for password information.

I had a call from this number on Friday, the 16th of January, around half past three. A lady with a noticeable foreign accent claimed to be from Plusnet, and she inquired whether I was interested in a more advantageous deal for my mobile phone. When I informed her it was just a standard mobile and not an iPhone, she probed further about my usage and how much I typically topped up each month, insisting she could offer me a superior deal. I made it clear that if I wanted to amend my contract, I'd contact Plusnet myself. She then insisted that if I did so, I wouldn't receive as good a deal as she supposedly had to offer at that moment, and proceeded to request my Plusnet login details, password, and my address. At that point, I felt quite uneasy and said I was rather busy. She mentioned she’d ring me again next week.
