Got a call from a woman claiming ‘You was in an accident, but it weren’t your fault’. She kept pushing me to answer her questions but I just hung up. Honestly, whoever’s behind this should be stopped and face legal action.

Got a missed call from 0114 048 8346. No idea who they were, and I don’t know anyone in Sheffield either. Looked up the number on a national site and found loads of people, like over 20,000, have checked it out recently cos it's linked to spam or scam calls. After reading what others said, it’s clear this number should be reported to warn everyone. Definitely a SCAM!

Got a call from someone claiming to be Plusnet. I’d seen missed calls from that number before and checked it out, turns out it’s a scam. Told my husband not to share any info with them. He ended up hanging up and blocked the number on our home phone. Obviously they’re after personal info to get into accounts or something. Proper nasty scamming lot.

Just got a call from this number. My answerphone picked up and they hung up right after hearing the message. I’ve been checking out different broadband deals recently and noticed they sometimes call to check your line. But if they don’t leave a name or any info, I’m sticking with TalkTalk. Even with their security glitches, their real customer service folks are pretty careful with security, polite, and don’t push for any personal info. I mostly reach out to them via email or chat anyway, so I have everything in writing.

I've been receiving frequent calls from this number on my home phone. Thanks to my caller ID, I can see the number, but alas, it's unfamiliar to me, so I simply ignore it. Upon further investigation, I discovered that these calls are from Plusnet, which I happen to be a customer of. I find it utterly unacceptable for Plusnet to resort to this kind of communication and it’s quite infuriating. You can be certain that I will NEVER pick up when this number calls. If they have something to say, they have my email and they should be using that instead!

Got an email saying someone from Plusnet was gonna ring me to check if I had the best deal. They called like they said and asked for my address, landline and Plusnet username - all stuff you’d expect to prove it’s legit. The number showed up as being from Sheffield, which makes sense since Plusnet’s HQ is there. So why is everyone here freaking out so much?

Got calls from 01143070124 for five days straight, I just ignored them. They always ring between 3 and 6pm, never leaving a voicemail. I rang Plusnet today to check and it’s definitely not them, they said there’s no record of that number calling me. If they call again, I’m gonna mess about with whoever it is, haha. Plus I just switched to a better Plusnet deal, so they’d know that too. Been a Plusnet customer for four years, this number seems really odd.

Pretty sure it was a legit PlusNet call. They weren’t pushy or rude, just telling me about some new plans cos my contract’s ending soon. I reckon they might use an automated dialer tho, cause there was a brief silence right after I picked up but then someone came on the line.

I just had a chat with Plusnet directly, and after a proper detailed check, they told me this number isn’t linked to them at all. They even took a good few minutes to make sure it wasn’t connected to any sister companies or similar, and nope, no connection whatsoever. Because whoever’s ringing from this number is asking for personal details, I’d say it’s 'RISKY'. Don’t hand over any info, don’t ring them back, just get in touch with Plusnet yourself.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with Plusnet (which is who I’m with) trying to tempt me with ‘better deals’. As soon as I said I don’t give out my details on the phone, they just cut off before I could say anything else. If they're really from Plusnet, it’s a pretty poor way to do things. And if it’s actually Capita calling, they really ought to be more professional. To me, it felt like a phishing scam, so I’m definitely going to report it to Plusnet.

Just got a call from this number myself. The guy was asking loads of private details about my address and phone numbers, saying it was to give me a better Plusnet deal. I stopped giving info after a bit, felt a bit dodgy. But who exactly are they?? The bloke insisted he was from Plusnet and even knew the last 3 digits of my Plusnet account! Got a call from this number, claimed to be from Plusnet saying they got my details from them. He said he’s got a better deal than my current one. Wouldn’t answer any of my questions without going through three security checks first. Seemed pretty fishy, like a scam to steal personal info. Didn’t even know what broadband package I have, so no way he could be offering a better deal. Turns out he was working for a call centre in Sheffield called Capita.

Got two calls from this number in the space of an hour today. First time, I let the answerphone take it (then checked 1471 to see the number). Second time I picked up, and they asked me to confirm my name - why on earth? I just kept saying hello about seven times, then they started whistling down the line really loudly. This and other similar numbers keep ringing me with the same nonsense, and honestly, I’m well fed up - even though I’m on the TPS. Watch out. If I get any more unwanted calls, I’ll make sure you’re left with a ringing in your ears. Consider yourself warned.

It's utterly frustrating; every time I pick up the phone, the caller promptly disconnects.
