Called them back and all I got was some music playing, then they just cut me off and I ended up blocking the number.

I got a call from some automated voice telling me my account was going to be shut down and to press 1 to talk to someone. I Suspected it was a scam straight away, but I still pressed 1 just to see what would happen. Then, some person came on and started asking for my bank info. I didn’t give them anything and kept asking questions, and suddenly the call just dropped. Pretty sure it was a dodgy scam.

Got a call from this number on 14/05/13 around 4pm, but what’s weird is my phone never actually rang. Instead, I got a notification saying "Missed call: this number called you at 4pm on 14th May but left no voicemail." I looked it up online and ended up on this website, it seems like this number rings loads of folks??!! Someone rang my phone earlier but I couldn't pick up quick enough, which worked out for the best after seeing all the warnings about these calls. Just a heads up if you try to get your number taken off their lists - asking for removal kinda tells them your number is active, same as when you click the “unsubscribe” link in dodgy emails that just end up confirming your email is real. The best move is signing up with TPS and then having a bit of fun messing with telemarketers; I like playing the ‘Yes’ game - say yes to every question until they want your cash or private info, then you back out fast. For emails though, there’s nothing like TPS, so the only choice is setting your spam filter to max and ignoring all rubbish. Don’t ever reply, or you’ll just end up with more junk flooding in.
